I'm not a massive De Palma fan but some of his movies are great to watch. Scarface can be excessive at times but it delivers a visceral experience very few movies can match, The Untouchables is his best though. Carlito's Way was surprisingly good, Blow Out on the other, well made but it lacked a little something. I'm not quite sure what but it doesn't pull me in and I've seen it twice.
Brian De Palma
I've read De Palma movies described as too-sweet desserts for film lovers. While I do agree that metaphor holds water in every possible way, I also think it seriously sells short a guy who's made some of the most crazily enjoyable movies of the past 40 years. Not to mention more than a couple personal faves

Really like this director; maybe it's just me but I find a lot of his films to either be underrated or overrated. Maybe it's just his style-a lot of movies you either love or hate.
