Favorite movies by Directors, Actors, Leaders, other important people

Rotten Tomatoes has a feature called Five favorite films where they interview people about this stuff, and there is a lot of interviewees.

One of the few things I like about Rotten Tomatoes.

When I don't know a director or any of the actors, and I see a RT score of 90%, I'll probably check it out.

Edgar Wright has a Top 1,000 Movies list on MUBI that occasionally gets updated. It's an interesting-looking list, alright.

A list of every movie Nixon saw when he was President (they even state where he saw them). I'm not through, but he was watching good stuff. Later, I'll have to compare what was happening in the country, especially as I find President audio tapes to match up.

That's a really interesting list and it has a lot of movies I haven't heard of and/or not seen.

I just read a few weeks ago that President Carter was a movie buff.... I just found this.. I'm only 20 movies in, but he would make a great MOFO! (if he'd stopped building houses for humanity!)

Interesting. I like it. You have a whole thread dedicated to movies presidents watched. I'd like to know what JFK, LBJ and Reagan watched while in the white house.

Quentin Tarantino's favorite film is The Good The Bad & The Ugly.
Shawn Ashmore's favorite film is Kill Bill.

MUBI compiled an extended list of Martin Scorsese favourites much in the vein of the Edgar Wright top 1,000 I linked to earlier. This list numbers around 900 at the moment.

December 1986 Frank Zappa was the guest host of "Future Shock Week", a thematic science fiction film week on The Movie Channel. The first film he introduced was "Brazil", which he introduced as "one of his favorite movies."
