The Imitation Game (2014)
5/5
great great movie not only about a genius that cracked an important WWII code but also about very cruel law that in my country was valid till 1989 and caused many many personal tragedies.

Suspect's Reviews

A Quiet Place (2018)

very hard to gain some significant rating in horror business, however i still can rate this feature 4/5 because it was unique and original. are those the synonyms hahahah . never mind, it was a decent horror flick and lots of virtues were shown.

Nocturnal Animals (2016)

I kind of neglected Jake Gyllenhaal's movies lately, but going through his filmography i discovered this flick that really and truly creeped me out of course I love Amy Adams

Into the Wild (2007)

Honestly when I saw it first time, it kind of creep me out however then I realized huge huge basic thought ___ we are not only Homo Sapiens but also Homo Socialis and we need another human being to share our lives with however necessary ... even Robinson Crusoe had his Friday ... and the guy realized that as well even thou it was very late for him

As Good as It Gets (1997)

i have completely skipped this movie and than a friend of mine recommended it to me and I was really impressed. I mean Jack was awesome in that role of OCD suffering guy and Helen Hunt was just amazing and ... and .. his neighbors were awesome too. And I didn't realize that Greg Kinnear is the same guy that plays in Stuck in Love, which I love too very much

Sisters of the Gion (1936)

+

This took me a short time to get into it but I thought it was excellent. It's about geisha sisters and just how they look at their clients and their work. It was very interesting and the ending powerful. For such an old movie it felt like a fresh take.

Annihilation (Alex Garland, 2018)

Annihilation, truly impressed me as a perfect example of how unimaginative and downright stupid Hollywood blockbuster movies have gotten lately....No, that's not Sigourney Weaver from Alien, that's Natalie Portman stuck in one of the worst of the new big budget sci fi films, that I've seen.

It's pretty evident from the lackluster acting that the actors didn't have much faith in the script or maybe they just plain didn't care...There's one main rule to action-thriller-horror movie making, you need to have the characters reacting like the stuff on the green screen is real! That way they convince us to suspend our disbelief, so we can buy into what we're seeing. They didn't believe their roles, so either did I!

Annihilation
brings nothing new to the table. It's the same old rehashing of past sci fi ideas. Even worse, is that so many camera shots/scenes were stolen from other movies, that I can't even name them all. Though I had to laugh at the scene in the above photo, I hope Ridley Scott got a credit for that one...Then there's the scene of three of the team specialist tied to chairs as a deranged team member holds them hostage...then in comes the Thing, I mean the bear, ha! That was very reminiscent of one of The Things most powerful scenes. How embarrassing for the director of Ex Machina to turn out this junk.

Ouch. Usually we see eye to eye but not here. I loved Annihilation and it will be a hard film to top for me in 2018.
Did you like it more that Arrival and Interstellar? I know you liked Arrival fairly well. How would you rate those:

I'd rate:
Interstellar
Arrival
Annihilation

Tough call as I've only seen Annihilation and Interstellar one time.

I'd go Arrival first, then Annihilation. I like Interstellar but it's lengthy and you can feel that. It's easily number 3 here.

Yeah Interstellar is lengthy all right...I wish they would have trimmed out the fight sequence on the ice planet with Matt Damon. That was my least favorite part.

At first I thought it was average at best, then after discussions as it was movie of the week, I turned on it completely, couldn’t agree more, it’s a turd.

Welcome to the human race...

I'd rate:

Annihilation
Imagine trashing Annihilation for being an unimaginative mishmash of references to other movies and then praising Inter-god-damn-Stellar in comparison.

Also, I wish that a film like Annihilation was indicative of how unimaginative/stupid Hollywood blockbusters are nowadays but I've seen enough to know that it is more the exception than the norm. Go watch something like Rampage or Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom then get back to me.

_____ is the most important thing in my life…
I wasn't overly impressed by Annihilation or Arrival, but they were good. It reminds me of Upgrade, where I feel like the "twist" is suppose to absolve the rest of the movie. They were all good, but nowhere near the level of that movie with the polite red light.
