  3. The Artist
  4. Birdman
  5. The King's Speech
  6. The Departed

  8. Slumdog Millionaire
  9. Argo
  10. 12 Years a Slave

Spotlight was fine - really well put together - but nothing special. Nothing that I'll remember. What'd everyone think of that winning?

Fave to least...

No Country for Old Men
LOTR:ROTK
12 Years A Slave
The Hurt Locker
Birdman
Spotlight
The Artist
Gladiator
Argo
Million Dollar Baby
The King's Speech
Slumdog Millionaire
Chicago
A Beautiful Mind
The Departed
Crash

As for what I thought of Spotlight winning - while it was not my favourite of this year's nominees (I'd probably put Mad Max: Fury Road and Room ahead of it), I can definitely respect it winning. It may not have been "anything special" but I respect it for not trying way too hard to be special like, say, The Revenant did.

Honestly, i only really like a couple of these. Most are meh to ugh for me. No Country For Old Men is a better film than most above it but i just don't like it that much. Not seen Crash, Argo, The Artist or 12 Years A Slave yet.

01.Return of the King
02.Birdman
03.The Hurt Locker
04.Gladiator
05.The Kings Speech
06.The Departed
07.Spotlight
08.A Beautiful Mind
09.No Country For Old Men
10.Million Dollar Baby
11.Chicago
12.Slumdog Millionaire

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
ROTK is the best and 12 Years a Slave is the worst. The rest I don't really care what order, but No Country for Old Men and The Hurt Locker are probably #2 and #3.

How can you make this thread without having seen two of the films?

I'm wondering how they rank Birdman at #4 on this particular list when it's the only one of these films to be on their profile's favourite movies list.

Bumping this for Moonlight. Where does everyone have Moonlight if they've seen it?

01.Return of the King
02.Moonlight
03.Birdman
04.The Hurt Locker
05.The King's Speech

08.A Beautiful Mind
09.No Country For Old Men
10.Spotlight
11.Million Dollar Baby
12.Argo

Haven't seen:

Crash: All i've heard is that it is terrible so not got high hopes.
The Artist: Not sure what to expect here.
12 Years A Slave: Think this has the best potential for me as i love Shame.
