You're a Genius all the time
Yeah, I don't remember the last time I actually completely filled up my car. But, for what it's worth, regular gas is about $4.13 a gallon 'round my parts (last time I checked).

And cigarettes are $6 a pack.
And milk is $4.50 a gallon.
And on and on and on...

Cost me £69 yesterday to fill up the car with diesel at £1.27 a litre and that's cheap. I've seen it at £1.33 a litre in places. Petrol is a few pence a litre cheaper now thanks to changes in taxation over the past few years. So in dollar terms that's cost $135.90 at $2.50 a litre or $9.48 for a US gallon.

I just worked out the cost of milk in US gallon terms in the UK we're pretty much the same as you, that's for milk from the supermarket. Your cigs are way cheaper than ours but we tend to buy on the black market imported from Europe otherwise ours are a lung choking over $11 a packet.

11 bucks? Jesus. I wish we had a black market over here for things. We have this thing called craigslist on the internet, but that's mostly just people trying to rip other people off. You can find good deals on there just like you can in a newspaper or anywhere else but you're always taking a chance buying someone else's crap.

Gas is $3.93 for the lowest grade here in NH. It costs me almost $50 to fill up.

Oh and $100 here, but my boss usually buys my gas because I drive around doing bids all day for my construction company.

EDIT: So I got that going for me... Which is nice.

The last time I filled up it was around 65.00.... and I fill up about 3 times a week...

Ouch, doesnt orleans parish pay for your fuel?
Yes... but I have to get there first... so that's what it takes to get me to work... and 'tis why I've been working overtime... which makes no sense at all...

Cost me Ł69 yesterday to fill up the car with diesel at Ł1.27 a litre and that's cheap. I've seen it at Ł1.33 a litre in places. I can't afford to fill up the car now, simple as that. If I could it'd be costing me Ł80-odd on the Brit side of the border and Ł65-70 in the 'Free State'.

I don't live that far away from the Holy Grail of Co Monaghan (with its cheaper fuel) but far enough out of my way that the cheaper price by itself doesn't justify a trip.

You ready? You look ready.
We can't afford to fill up anymore. Like Tacitus said, simple as that.

We don't put anymore than 50 bucks in the three cars we have. For the Jeep and van that's half a tank, while the Aurora almost reaches full. Thankfully, the Aurora gets 20MPG. Damn impressive for a 7 year old V-8 with 148K miles.

$53.00 to fill a 13 gallon tank in Cleveland, Oh. I usually fill up about once a week

A gallon of gas in Sweden costs approximately $9. So if I filled up, which I never do, it would cost me like $140.

Do you guys think the price should be lower or is it time to start walking, biking or to take the bus, the sub or the train?

A couple of months ago a full tank would cost me $50 now it costs me $70

All of those... when possible... but we also need alternative fuel sources because there are, and always will be, some people who have no alternative but to use their private cars...

EDIT: Forgot to say the price needs to be lower... period.

Well thats true Caity, the thing is, we already have the technology and alternate fuel sources but cars are still being outfitted with petrol fuel systems for god knows what reason. Vegetable oil can be refined into fuel, ethinol, electric, they have a car going around a university in Australia somewhere with somehow lawn clippings used to propel the damn thing. The thing with the world is, we all know petrol is stupidly high and we all know bad for the environment but no country, car manufacturers and trillion dollar oil chains see fit to do anything mainstream and bold about it because there is still a lil oil stuck in the earth. It gives me the sh**'s but like almost every other car owner in the world, I will still keep payin full price at the pump and keep drivin along.
