You should look at his filmography before saying anything. He has made a lot of incredibly retarded movies like Zebraman.

For Korean movies lately The Wailing was intense and full of unexpected twists.

Zhang Yuan might be my new favorite Chinese director after seeing Seventeen Years.

Can tell you mostly about Indian kinda stuff bruh. And I would recommend you watching "Pk" or maybe "3 Idiots". Will be well worth of your time. See their trailers if you like!!!

This might be the most bonkers movie ever. In terms of originality it ranks up there with Tetsuo: The Iron Man but is much easier to sit through (Tetsuo, whoa, that's looooooong 70 minutes).

But directors like Na Hong-jin, Kim Jee-woon, Park Chan-wook, Wong Kar-wai, Akira Kurosawa, Takashi Miike and Takeshi Kitano are the names that everybody here knows, even if it's only by name. Watched all films posted here so far, so I'd like to put some different directors here:

In Asia movie, I only like and watch Jet Li and Jacki Chain movies.

That's a shame.
Asia is far better than Hollywood this days.

So many posts and no Ghibli?

Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke instantly come to mind.

The Raid pretty much revamped the action movie and I have to mention Oldboy.
