Well, it shows the first person to do it doesnt necessarily mean the best at it either. Ohtani is young, doesnt seem to be riddled with vices and poor behavior off the field. This is like looking at Babe Ruth if he actually behaved like a healthy man and a professional in his time. If Ohtani wants to get fat, drink, smoke, and chase whores thene he will probably be like what Ruth ended up being. If Ohtani keeps focused and healthy, the second half of their careers is gonna look alot different.
For those unfamiliar: the announcer from the Major League movies, who was actually a real announcer and a real actor, and genuinely very good at both. One of the absolute legends of the broadcast booth.
R I.P. I always liked him. While visiting my grandparents in Wisconsin many years ago, I caught some of a Brewers game on the radio and was impressed by how engaging and enthusiastic all his commentary was, which says a lot given how miserable that team was in the early '00s.
