I am new enough here that I have no idea of what's going on here. Though I ' m not sure that being here longer would make this thread any more understandable for me.

But for one glorious satisfying moment, I had a devoted declaration of love for me. And then it seemed to be followed by a flurry of confusion, envious spats, denial and a lover in absentia: ah well never mind, it was nice to be cherished for the 15 seconds it took me to read the title of the thread. And in recollection, I 've had dates that ended similarly, or far worse.

Have you seen the movie Lensman?

I have not seen this - and when I looked it up online it seems to be a movie, a book and a comic book(aka graphic novel) series. I' m honored. Though in the interest of expediency, I may have to start with the cliff notes version.

It's a pretty shameless Star Wars rip-off, and somewhat ironically Titan A. E. ripped Lensman off.

I was thinking along those very same lines when reading about it. The first lensman has similar themes but it predates Star Wars by a mile. It even predates me. Lol

Well ya know, in gratitude to this warm and fuzzy thread, I could watch one of those very Lensman movies tonight.... Although.....Er...ah.......I could also watch one of those new remakes of classic movies I keep hearing about with the same original male lead, of course, but with a new female costar; like say:
