Randy Newman - It took him a while!

Finally after an incredible 15 (yes FIFTEEN) nominations without reward Randy Newman got his Oscar.

Again possibly not his best performance but surely the guy deserves it for sheer perserverance!

Question (to which i dont know the answer): What is the highest number of nominations anyone has received without winning?

Randy's has got to be it.

What a lovely acceptance. He could have been all emotional for having won at last, but instead he made a joke out of the whole thing. Classy.

And John Goodman's performance on stage put the other singers to shame.
