Hero Training Movies?

What would you say are some good hero training movies? I like seeing how the different soon-to-be heros bust ass to become awesome. Batman Begins was one of my favorite; how about you guys?

I think it depends on how you define "hero." Do you mean a superhero, or any heroic protagonist? If it's the latter, I'd say the training sequences in Rocky have more or less set the standard.

Any hero really, doesn't need to have super powers.

Yeah, those were good.

Kickboxer (1989) - starring that high-kick fiend JCVD
Kung-Pow: Enter The Fist (2002)

can't really think of any more, but I'll keep my mind working

The Bloodsport flashback, which is about half as long as the movie, is a great one. My favorite is Sonny Chiba's Koga ninja training in The Executioner.

I have to return some videotapes.
I would have to say Karate Kid without a doubt. Any movie that has a montage song is going to be an awesome 'hero' movie for sure!

I'd have to go with Kickboxer, dropping coconuts on your stomach and kicking a palm tree with your shin? You can't beat that.

"The hours approaching, just give it your best
You've got to reach your prime.
That’s when you need to put yourself to the test,
And show us a passage of time,
We're gonna need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Show a lot of things happing at once,
Remind everyone of what’s going on (what’s going on?)
And with every shot you show a little improvement
To show it all would take to long
That’s called a montage (montage)
Oh we want montage (montage)

And anything that we want to go from just a beginner to a pro,
You need a montage (montage)
Even ROCKY had a montage (montage)

(Montage…montage)

Anything that we want to go from just a beginner to a pro,
You need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Always fade out in a montage,
If you fade out, it seem like more time
Has passed in a montage,
Montage"
