What are your hopes for X3? Tell all. Who do you hope to see in the movie? What storyline do you hope Singer will follow, etc? Personally, I hope to see Gambit and Psylocke in X3. I also want more power usage from Kitty and Siryn.

The Dark Phoenix Saga must be touched even just a little so then we will know there is going to be a third movie. I would also love to see a different villian. Maybe Mr Sinister or the sentinels instead of Magneto.

Cheers,
Mana

i want them to go with the dark pheonix because thats how X2 ended. i also want to see gambit and more collosus he was cool in X2 but they didnt show enough of him

Colossus was always one of my favorite mutants, and the brief little bit they showed of him in X2 is one of my favorite parts in the movie.

I would really like to see Gambit in the third ensallment(sp?). He was byfar, my fave character and the fatc that his name appears in X2 (Remy LeBeau [sp?]) on the comp when Mystique is going through it, leads me to believe he will make an apperence...also, to see Pheonix's full power in the movie would be amazing. Have to wait and see though...

It seems everyone loves Gambit and Colossus. I would love to see more of Colossus too but I would really love them to show us more of Kitty. And they definitely need to add the cool, suave, and handsome Gambit!
Oh man, who will play Gambit? How will they introduce him and his power? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I agree with all you guys pretty much. The one thing i really want in the third one are the sentinels. As for collossus and gambit, you gotta have them but i wasn't relly impressed with Colossus's performance in X2 and i didn't appreciate how they intorduced him either. They made him just some secondary guy masturbating kids. (joking) In the real story Collosus is in the X men but he lives in his Russia, I think. I think it's russia. Anyway, it doesn't matter because they could make a million X men movies and I'd go see every one of them and theyd all be goods hahaha. It's harder to screw up than Batman. The amazing thing about the movies was practically all the changes they made from the comicbook I liked or didn't mind which is just astonishing considering what they did to batman. And how stupid does that new Batman look? They just put the bat to sleep already. I got my memories...

My thoughts exactly. They could really sabotage what they've got if they try to cram in all these X-characters, but they need to develop the ones they've got. Hell, one of the major reasons why Grant Morrison's New X-Men run was so great is because he threw out a bunch of characters, and only focused on a select few.

They need villains...badly. The one villain that probably had the most on-screen potential was played by a washed-up wrestler who barely spoke, and who was subsequently killed off before the follow-up. Boulderdash.

Mmm, you have a point there. I would love to see Sinister make an appearance and they do need to focus on the characters they have already shown us but, if they do add another character I would love it to be Remy.

As much as everyone wants to see Gambit, I don't think he'd be a good choice. He's really cool (and a total fan favorite), but I think he'd be out of place. He's always been a "dark horse" X-Man, if you will, and they've already established Wolverine as such in the films. Plus, Gambit really is nothing if he's not feigning over somebody, so who would he be trying to nail? Certainly not Rogue, because she's a student (and Gambit shouldn't be).

If there is one character who I think needs to be in there, and would logically fit into the formula - it's Archangel. This guy is a rich kid with all kinds of emotional baggage, and he'd be a great dramatic on-screen character. Not to mention, he could be a killer villain (I wouldn't like to see the "Four Horsemen" story, but still something in which Archangel actually fights the X-Men before joining the team).

Oh, and they still need to recast Cyclops. James Marsden makes for a decent Scott Summers, but he's not leaderly (that, and he overacts).

I totally agree with you man. Cyclops doesn't seem like a real leader in the movie and Archangel should be in there. It sucks though because if you put Archangel in there, it would take up a lot of the story because he's got a long one. And that's an interesting point I never thought about Gambit. Yeah, he was trying to bang Rogue, and now that she's going out with Iceman in the movie, what's he gonna be worth? Another side of me also says it would be great to have in the movie and be the dark horse. They could introduce him into the plot of the movie so easily and really make it work. Archangel, like I said would be harder but he's a great X-man. You really need Beast though because everybody loves Beast. He's so funny. He'd be beating up a robot, hurt his hand against the robots armor and say something like, "Hmm, it appears evidently my flesh and bones are no match to this impervious machine" I always thought is was funny how he was so free and could joke about everything intellectually and not be so serious and forceful as the rest. He's just a great character. If they didi do the sentinels, it would open the movie to have Sinister in it if they introduced the character of Morph. The freaken problem is there's so many damn mutants at that school, the kids alone take time out of the movie when all you want to see is the x-men parading around and blowing up sentinels and killing villains. It is definately true that they have to have Apocolypse in one of them. That guy is crazy. He could give Superman a good fight. I think if they wanted to make five of em, they should do the next one on the Pheonix, Morph, and the government outrage making the the sentinels. The next one would be about Mr. Sinister, collosus and Juggernaut. Then the final Xmen movie should be about All of the villains plus Apocolypse so it would just be a huge waltz of a war with a dozen X-men against the enemies. After that, if they really wanted to cash in on Marvel, they could open it up from there to ecompass all the cosmic heros and villains Like the silver surfer, Captain Marvel, Galactus, The fantastic four, Thanos, Mephisto, Iron man and so on and so on.
That's just the way I would do it, being a writer myself. I think it would make the most money that way but you never know what Hollywood will do. They might just can it after the third and never make any new marvel movies or atleast not connect them. It would be sick if they did a movie on The Infinity War if you guys ever read that. That was freaken awesome. What happens is, the villain Thanos find this glove called " The Infinity Gauntles" that basically makes him a god and he can do anything. The good guys of the marvel counsel, lead by Hulk and this other guy i forgot the name of fight him at his palace and all get massacred. Everybody pretty much except for Silver Surfer and Captian Marvel. They fight Thanos and get beat too but he keeps Silver Surfer alive and he somehow manages to take the Gauntlet from Thanos. *******, I wish I had all those comics again. I'm really rambling here so I'll shutup now, tee hee.

From Answers.com:

* Director Bryan Singer, who was responsible for the success of the first two X-Men movies, was not rehired for this movie, and in fact was escorted out of Fox Studios by Fox security.

* Brett Ratner was selected to replace Singer. Ratner was an outspoken opponent of the X-Men franchise, and on several occasions stated that he believed the first movie would fail. He looked like a fool when Singer made not one but two successful X-Men movies, and has held a grudge against him since then.

* The Dark Phoenix storyline that Singer has been setting up for X-Men 3 by including clues in the first two movies, has been dropped, in favour of a remake of the plot of X-Men 2: an anti-mutant individual develops a serum to “cure” mutants.

* Extremely overrated actress Halle Berry, whose role as Storm in X-Men and X2 was disappointing and whose solo super-hero movie Catwoman single-handedly killed that franchise, has been given the central role in this movie.

* Wolverine, arguably the most popular X-Men in both the comics and the first two movies, has been given a background role in this movie, and will act mostly as a love interest for Halle Berry.

* Other popular mutants who are being moved in the background or killed off include Mystique, Professor X, Gambit and Cyclops. Juggernaut is being given a role reminiscent of the unpopular one Sabertooth played in the first X-Men story. Nightcrawler, the most popular newcomer of X2, was not renewed for this movie.

Yeah, they've included Dr. Kavita Rao, the scientist who develops the serum in Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men (which pleasantly surprised me). But they've dropped the Dark Phoenix plot altogether? Don't get me wrong - nothing would make me happier - but Famke Janssen has been cast to reprise Jean Grey. So, what gives?

In other X3 news, Ashley Hartman (from The OC) has been cast to play Emma Frost. She wouldn't have been my pick, but Emma is a great character, so at least they've thrown her in.

That is some good news. Emma is a great character, and also has it goin on, so I want to see her solo film, Emma Frost: Disrobed. I was actually looking forward to Dark Phoenix, but only if Singer was handling it..... I thought Whedon's run was pretty damn good....you?

I wonder how much the old D.C. vs Marvel war has found its way into this. Singer is doing Superman is he not?

Yes, he is. When Fox found out he was in talks to do Superman returns, they fired him and his crew, and had them escorted off the grounds.

Fox = Clowntards

I loved the first half of Whedon's run. The second half sorta fell apart, as it seemed like Whedon's energy was directed elsewhere (probably the completion of Serenity). The mutant cure (and all the surrounding reactions to it) was fresh and engaging stuff, but he dropped that in favor of typical sci-fi theatrics. Not even witty dialogue could save the last 6 issues which, to me, didn't even make sense.

I was treating Singer's Dark Phoenix storyline with a sort of "curious reserve." Because for me, the Phoenix element has only served as the shining example of Marvel's reluctance to kill anyone off (as well as their fascination with devastating villains), and it has become so completely overused in recent years that I don't even care about Jean Grey anymore.
