I'm a huge fan of The Night They Raided Minsky's, which hasn't been getting much love here. I give it an A.

He directed three episodes (I think) of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour. I give an F to the one with Sally Kellerman, a B for the one with Elsa Lancaster (I think he directed that one), and a C+ to the other one.

I guess I should chime in.

The Hunted (2003) - I really liked it and thought it might end up being a return to form.
Rules of Engagement (2000) - At the time the film was made a buddy and me had a discussion about Samual L. Jackson never giving a bad performance even in not so great to bad movies. I didn't really like the film but the two leads were good and since then I can't really have this argument about him.
12 Angry Men (1997) (TV) - I gotta say Lemmon works his magic and Fredkin does the right thing here he doesn't change much.
Jade (1995) - neo nior pretty silly stuff should have been and could have been better with the people envolved.
Blue Chips (1994) - I dug it at the time of release, not so sure I would now.
Rampage (1987) - pretty intellegent tv movie, is there a longer cut for it release on to VHS and or DVD.
To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) - Brilliant. I remember watching this film with my mom and the both of us being completely bowled over by the hook and the character developments.
Deal of the Century (1983) - what a mess.
Cruising (1980) - I like it a lot though I know many don't.
Sorcerer (1977) - fantastic a hidden gem.
The Exorcist (1973) - Perfect horror.
The French Connection (1971) - I'm being to like the 2nd one as much.

His episode of CSI Las Vegas really sucked!

Really want too see:
Bug - Most of his new stuff has fallen off so I think if I go into this one with low expectations I might come out liking it
The Guardian - Looks crazy
The Brink's Job - Honestly I can't remember if I saw this or not.
The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968) - you guys got me really wanting to check this out but to my knowledge it's a hard film to find

Watching this made me realize I could have mentioned this in the musical thread although the singing and dancing is only on stage.

It was released on R1 DVD a couple years back, it shouldn't be impossible to locate.

I looked on Amazon. Definitely not scarce. Lots of offerings.

somehow this one got around me realizing it had been released on DVD. Unfortunatly I just don't think i'm prepared to buy and vanilla DVD for 17.99 plus shipping and handling. I will though try to find it for rent there's a few decent movie rentel places around were I live.

I haven't seen many of his films, unfortunately.

And when I'm all alone I feel I don't wanna hide
Happy birthday, William Friedkin! Out of all of his work, "Killer Joe" remains my favourite. A perversive, odd, twisted slice of Southern Gothic storytelling, and remarkably well-directed.

Chappie doesn't like the real world
I've wanted to watch Killer Joe for awhile. I love Southern Gothic. I started to watch it once, but there was a chatty person watching with us, so I took it out and put something else in. I haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe I'll get to it tonight.

Killer Joe

Bug

The Exorcist

The French Connection

The Hunted

Obviously a lot I've yet to see.
