Strictly Ballroom is fun for what it is, and Romeo + Juliet is just as noisy and unfocused as Moulin Rouge. I liked the basic ideas of how he was trying to update Shakespeare, but once again, for me it didn't work...at all. I suppose if I had to choose at gunpoint which of those second two flicks to sit through again, I'd pick Romeo + Juliet, because visually and pace-wise it's not cut at quite the same ridiculius tempo as Moulin Rouge.
But that gun would have to be loaded, dig?
