The Nepo Baby Controversy

The Force is Favreau
Remember the good old days when we just called them "Hollywood Royalty"? It appears that the poors and tokkers are getting agitated.

I have a dream that someday, actors will be judge by the quality of their acting and not the connected parents who landed them the gig!

On the other hand, do you know how hard it is to land a good job anywhere without knowing someone who will vouch for you? It's not what you know, it's who you know.

It's found an interesting reaction here in India, cause our main industry Bollywood has had that problem since the beginning. All major studios in it are family owned, and all the major actors are part of some or the other famous Bollywood family.

Once in a while, you will find an outsider making it in the industry, but more often than not it's the same people getting jobs despite countless box office bombs or despite having zero talent.

There's a actually a very strong reaction against nepotism now, so much so that people have begun boycotting movies. It began after one of the actors, Sushant Rajput, an outsider who made it big, committed suicide because of the mistreatment he received from the inner circles.

So it's fascinating to see this playing out in Hollywood. Star kids have massive advantage over others.
