A live-action adaptation of the classic Japanese anime series Saint Seiya recently wrapped production.

The manga and anime followed warriors known as The Saints who gather their powers from the constellations. They gather to defend the reincarnated goddess Athena from other gods who intend to take over the Earth.

Mackenyu Arata, the son of the recently passed action legend Sonny Chiba will play Seiya in the film, which co-stars Madison Iseman, Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Deigo Tinoco, Nick Stahl, and Mark Dacascos.

Tomasz Baginski directed the film with Shang-Chi fight coordinator Andy Cheng serving as stunt and fight coordinator.

I woudn't be all sad. On the up and up, they have an Asian actor/martial artist leading the cast in Mackenyu (the son of the recently departed Sonny Chiba) and the fight/stunt choreographer is former Jackie Chan Stunt Team member Andy Cheng, who worked on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (he choreographed the bus fight scene).

Cheng talked about making Knights of the Zodiac, as production wrapped last week.
