I just heard about this from Roger Ebert: http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2010...e_death_o.html

Claude Chabrol, director of such movies as Le Boucher, This Man Must Die, Les Biches, Ten Days Wonder, and The Unfaithful Wife, died today at age 80.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I've said before that he is my was second fave French new wave director, just after François Truffaut, so this is pretty major for me. Time again for another festival and to catch up on the ones I've missed thus far.

Definately a passing of a giant. Chabrol is an acquired taste, but with almost 50 + films spanning his 50 + year film career, you're bound to love at least of couple of his films.

(Brief blurbs about his films)

I was just organizing my collection last week and realized I only have seventeen Chabrol titles, so I have some holes to fill.
