That is odd. If I knew anything about the German language, I might be able to help, but I don't.
I write it off to Germans being weird (and I'm 3/4 weird by heritage... but 100% American... and staunchly independent).
I'm part German but very little. My family surname are mainly English and Scottish with a bit of German, Dutch and am part American Indian. My father looked very much American Indian but had blue eyes.

I find the study of language and words very interesting. I took Deutsche in high school because it was complex and most of our English is based off it.

There is a docuseries I watched long ago on The History Channel, that is now on YouTube. I'm planning on rewatching it soon.

Funny story - I took Spanish in high school. My teacher was also the German teacher. On the first day of class while taking attendance, she took one look at my last name and asked me, "Why aren't you taking German?"

I don't actually wear pants.
My last name is very German and none of my instructor ever pronounced it correctly. Even the person who announced my name at my undergrad graduation ceremony who knew how to pronounce it panicked and said it wrong. I corrected her quietly, so she made up for it on the loud speakers.

My German teacher was my school's only foreign language teacher. She taught Spanish and French as well.

I didn't want the easy way out. However, I have retained a lot over the years.

I can still do the basic greeting/info in German. I do listen to German rock bands too. This is one. The title is So close to me.

I never associated it with being a "give away" as to one's orientation.
(As far as I know, Ahnold, Lou and Franco are all straight. Does this mean Joe Weider and Charles Atlas were...???).
I don't know but I am sure many of their admirers were.

I have recently found out that Wendy's is selling Krusty Burgers

I read Temple of Doom is a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark so they wouldn't have to worry about reoccurring characters from Raiders of the Lost Ark aside from Indiana Jones. Addendum; there is more to it; Lucas also didn't want the villains to be Nazis again. Seems a bit of a nit pick to me because I figure a film set in 1935 can still have Nazis vis they rose to power in 1933, but maybe not.

The band GOBLIN, and how much of there music is featured in some of my favorite flicks and didnt realize it was all the same band...
also that the seven deadly notes song was the same thing in kill bill and how a fulci song is in a tarintino movie.

If you get the pineapple frost ask for them to double up on the pineapple, it was good but it was like a teaspoon at the bottom of a vanilla frosty...tell me how that krab patt was.

I would never think if asking them to put anything extra on the frosty, it already has like 52 grams of sugar and that's hella dangerous, even more sugar could send many folks into a diabetic coma

The Krusty Patty was pretty good, even a little subdued if you can believe that.

I remember Ford doing an interview for this film. At the time he was self-conscious of reprising the role as an even younger man and was worried about whether he could really pull it off. This younger man had better artistic sense than the older man who would return in the 21st century to play the same role. The older man arguable had better financial sense, or perhaps just greater financial need. Nothing quite so awkward as the on screen escapades of ageing film heroes.

I live in a neighborhood with families of Ukrainian descent. The neighbor next door who I know the best who looks after the house when we're gone, tells me that a Ukrainian family further down the street has a son in his 20s. The son has not been seen in months and the family has stopped talking to all the other neighbors. At first, I didn't get the point of this story. I asked if he had moved away (like my son who lives in Northern Ontario). And then it hit me and the guy confirmed it - they think the kid has gone back to Ukraine to fight for Ukraine. This must be tough for the parents.

Sometimes when we get what we want we don't want it anymore. I know Indiana Jones was popular back in the 1980s, and understandably so, but I don't know that the sequels we got this century were worth bringing back the character. I firmly believe less is more, although I can only speak for myself. Admittedly I enjoyed, to an extent, the fourth and fifth installments of Indiana Jones, even accepting their rather messy nature. I get what you mean though. I actually really enjoyed Dial of Destiny. It had shades of the first three, which I thought was cool. It could have been tighter. Overall it was fine.

I learned recently that sometimes it hurts a knee less to stand up than sit down. I have an undetermined knee injury, I get it checked out the 11th, and it seems to hurt less if I'm standing with it dangling at the hip than if I'm sitting with my foot on anything. Unfortunately when I lie down, like to sleep, the pressure of my foot on the bed causes knee pain. I did learn my hip felt better when I would lie down when I tore my labrum a few years ago, whereas sitting and standing were awfully painful for it. I also did some research out of curiosity's sake with zero inclination to diagnose myself, and my knee hurting whilst sitting at a 90-degree angle is indicative of a meniscus tear. The pain is also in the right spot for a meniscus tear, and my knee is incredibly swollen in the front. Oh my... Except now that I've made people aware of the possibility, that pretty much makes it inaccurate.

Anya Taylor-Joy was born in Argentina and her first language is Spanish. She moved to the UK when she was 6.
She was born in Florida. Both her maternal & paternal grandparents are British.

TIL: Anya Taylor-Joy was born in Miami, FL and that I must have misunderstood her when she was talking about growing up in Argentina and didn't move to the UK until she was 6 as meaning she was born in Argentina (when watching an interview she did that I saw on a random YouTube video).

As of now, I'm still under the impression Spanish was still her first language (though she did talk about being scared and trying to learn English before moving the UK, which was admittedly, like when she was six, it sounded like).

I've known this for years, but never mentioned it.. I actually compose music, arrange, experiment, and record in my music studio more when I only get 3-4 hours of sleep.
