A woman who laughs like a donkey

I remember when I was a kid I watched an old comedy, and during the movie there was a woman who laughed like a donkey or a sheep, and then at the end of the movie she gets chased by a goat. this movie was pretty old, maybe from the 1940's.

The closest I can think of who has a strange laugh is Phyllis Dilller, but she only goes back to the sixties and I don't know about her being chased by a goat.

Are you talking about a homely broad slapstick female comic? Was she the star of the movie?

There is Martha Raye (but I don't remeber her having a weird laugh). Judy Canova whose movies are never shown amymore, and Joan Davis, also without a weird laugh.

That's all I can think of except Marjorie Main.

If we can identify the woman maybe we can figure out the movie.
