Precious tritium is what makes this project go.
What is your favourite action sequence?

Mine it either the tank scene in Goldeneye or the epic battle at the end of Serenity.

What's yours?

I am an action fan, so here's what comes to mind from my recent viewings:

'Commando' Climax battle.

'Shoot 'em Up' Can't beat the opening shootout.

'Equilibrium' Confrontation with dog in boot. The whole film is 'different' in its action, but this sticks in my mind.

'Hot Fuzz' Climax shoot out from when he rides in on the horse.

'Transformers: The Movie' Final fight between Prime and Megatron. So much power and weight transferred to the screen through the epic animation and angles used.

'Doctor Who: Doomsday' - Cos I always wanted the Daleks and Cybermen to meet and fight! That they did and it was good.

'Predator' Attacking the 'baddies' stronghold prior to being hunted.

'The Terminator' Tech-Noir scene. Short but energetic.

'Conan The Barbarian' Final battle is still one of the most awesome sword and sandal battles on film.

'Army of Darkness' Ash's final short slaying at the end 'Hail to the king baby'.

Predator, when Mac shouts 'Contact!!!' and they all turn the jungle into salad using their guns. Ol' Painless is one awesome gun.

Star Wars Episode III start sequence that's finished off by Obi Wan crashing his ship and jumping out of the cockpit with his lightsabre. Best scene of the film.

Jurassic Park: Raptors In The Kitchen.

The scene on the bridge in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Starship Troopers is full of awesome scenes. The best one is when they're holding the fort from a hoard of Bugs and waiting for the dropship to come get them.

I'm surprised PeterVincent doesn't have the four-way Metropolis fight in Superman 2. That was good.

I'd have to say, along with the jungle salad scene in Predator, Raptors In The Kitchen is my favourite single sequence in any movie.
Seriously well put together.

Can't believe I forgot Starship Troopers.

LOTR - Battle at Helm's Deep.

WTF, people? No Matrix yet?

Ok, this is, hands down, one of the hardest film topics ever.

The lobby shoot-out in The Matrix, the first time Neo fights Smith in the subway, and the final scene when Neo realizes his power and pwns Smith.

One of my favorite fights of all time, though brief, is the Bride vs. Bill in Kill Bill. It's over in seconds, but the emotional beats before and after raise it to a level of bad-assery that few films can manage.

Though I haven't seen it in a while, I remember loving the end of the original Straw Dogs. Dustin Hoffman's rage in that film is palpable.

I could probably come up with hundreds more, but I'll keep my inner nerd caged on this subject.

Ok, I tried to stop myself, but I can't.

Every fight in Fist of Legend. Every fight in Ip Man. 90% of the fights that Jackie Chan did in his Chinese films.

The D-day sequence in Saving Private Ryan.

The truck sequence in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Ok. I swear, I'm backing off this thread...

We've gone on holiday by mistake
My fav "Action" sequence has to be the Bourne Ultimatum Tangier sequence starting with a Bomb blast, followed by a Bike chase, followed by an AWESOME rooftop freerunning sequence, ending with a brutal all or nothing fight scene.

My fav "Battle" scene is the first battle in Braveheart.

Rep for Fist of Legend. Up there with the best martial arts movies ever!

The foot chase in Point Break!

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
The fire engine chase finale of Con Air. I find there are plenty of "**** yeah" moments in the five minute sequence.

The whole bar fight scene between Steven Seagal and some angry bar patrons in Out For Justice. The best part is when he keeps pushing the same weak guy back into the phone booth.

The "race against time" ending of The Rock also sticks in my mind. In fact, my current screensaver is the "green smoke" moment.

But all of these pale in comparison to some scenes from The Greatest Movie Of All Time (IMO) Terminator 2. The Cyberdyne shoot out, the hospital escape, the bar fight... That Cameron sure knows how to make some good action.

If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission
I am furiously trying to remember all of my favorites, but it's damn near impossible. So here are just the first few I thought of...

Lord of The Rings: Return of The King
The Riders of Rohan follow Theoden into battle at Minas Tirith.
"Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride to ruin and the world's ending!"

The Matrix
The lobby scene. Enough said.

Kill Bill, Vol. 1
The showdown at House of Blue Leaves vs. The Crazy 88.

300
The battle against The Immortals (and pretty much every other battle )

Saving Private Ryan
The opening sequence at Omaha Beach.

The Patriot
When Benjamin Martin rescues his son in the nearby forest.
"Aim small, miss small."

Hard Boiled
The final showdown at the hospital.

Terminator 2
The hallway shootout at the mall - guns n' roses, baby!

Casino Royale
The opening chase scene in Madagascar.

The Dark Knight
The truck chase scene in the Gotham City tunnels.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Scott vs. Todd, the vegan bass player.

Jurassic Park
The chase scene with the T-rex and the jeep.

Resident Evil: Afterlife
The fight scene with the Axe Man in the showers.

Predators
The Yakuza gangster vs. Predator in the grassy field.

Aliens
Ripley's final showdown with the Queen.
"Get away from her, you B*TCH!"

First Blood
Rambo takes down Sheriff Teasle's team in the forest.

Ong Bak
The foot chase scene in the streets of Bangkok.

Underworld: Rise of The Lycans
Lucian and Sonja battle the vampires in the fortress.

The Professional
Leon vs. the cops in the apartment complex.

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
HOTH!!

I know I'm missing so many more, but this is what came to me first thing.

I completely forgot about that one. Though in Superman II I preferred when Zod and co. were wrecking havoc on the town.

Also Ripley Vs. The Queen in Aliens.

Sit Ubu Sit.... Good Dog
The restaurant scene from The Protector the entire fight scene is almost in 1 shot, and from watching the making of other Thai movies like Chocolate people really get hurt a lot, and I just wonder during this 1 shot fight scene how many people really got hurt.
