Judging from the first two episodes, this series could be dyn-o-mite. Refreshingly, Kiefer Sutherland has returned to the espionage thriller mode, hopefully winding up his sensitive guy characters.
He plays a private dirty tricks and spying agent who soon ends up being framed for murder. The story puts me in mind a little of Three Days of the Condor, and also The Fugitive.
The direction and pacing by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra keeps it unpredictable and thrilling. The acting is first rate, with Meta Golding playing a hotel bar pickup who gets thrown together with Sutherland as he lams it. She does just the right kind of acting, and they have good chemistry.
