We've gone on holiday by mistake
I dont remember any worthy bond songs in the first place, at least not in my lifetime. They scrapped radiohead wtf.

That being said this market tested of somberness just really really boring. But its sell.
What's the scope of your lifetime? Cause there are loads of good ones. However the past 20 ish years haven't been that great. I really like Sheryl Crow Tomorrow Never Dies 1997, and Skyfall 2012 Adele. The rest are forgettable.

I liked the Paul McCartney composed and performed eponymous theme song to Live and Let Die. It was exciting, clever, and memorable.

im 23-ish, but i have fair share piece brosnan's as well tho' i cant say much about the song since im pretty young to bother with. Still not big fan of adelle but thay Better song than sam Smith(pretty horrible to me) and that Billie eilish.

Whaaaat? You have Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, you only live twice, Moonraker, GoldenEye, tomorow never dies, the world is not enough... Those are all pretty legendary Bond songs. Also Adele's it's a good Bond song. I think she's pretty much the only one from the Craig movies who understood what 007 is about.
Eillish's song however, is among the worst. Madonna level.

Respo says their lifetime, and they're 23 so 1997 onwards.

I don't know if Billie Eillish's song is the worst at all, I quite like it, the worst ones are the ones you can't even remember, I don't know if it ties into bad films but I sit here and can't remember the songs for World is Not Enough, Die another Day, Casino Royale or Quontam of nonsense. I only remember the Sam Smith one cause it's recent, but that's terrible.

Many of the old ones are legendary, some of them are on my you tube playlists, You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger, Spy Who Loved Me and many more.

The best outright theme is the On Her Majesties Secret Service song, no singing and it wasn't used again till very recently, an amazing piece of music from John Barry.

It's pure Bond, sublime.

Guys movie has been delayed 6 months due to corona virus

I just read this to, but I don't understand why the movie is being moved cause of the corona virus. Is it because they feel people in China mostly, where the virus has spread a lot, will not see the movie and the movie will not make as much money therefore?

Doesn't that come off as looking kind of shallow and selfish on the producers part, that they are delaying a movie because people are getting really sick, and therefore will not pay to see a movie... Or is there another reason why it was moved because of the virus?

Welcome to the human race...
I've seen a theory circulating that the villain's plot has something to do with unleashing a virus on the world so maybe they've pushed it back out of sensitivity concerns (which makes some sense when you consider that none of the other upcoming major releases have been delayed for similar reasons).

Way too much stupid talk on the forum. Iroquois, Iím thinking about you.

Oh okay that would make sense. Thank you for explaining that.

I've recently rewatched a lot of the series. I find it strange, how a lot of fans prefer the more serious ones, and like how there are no more gadgets or at least not near as many in the more serious ones. But I feel that was what made Bond unique is the mix of over the top camp and the high tech gadgets. You take those out, and you have just another spy movie that isn't in that unique-Bond verse. That's like saying I want an Indiana Jones, movie without anything supernatural or sci-fi in, just real world without any of those things. Wouldn't that take away from the Indiana Jones universe?

Welcome to the human race...
Perhaps, but in retrospect it's easier to think that they were just ahead of the curve in terms of movies being delayed due to coronavirus - after all, they'd already delayed it from last November anyway so what difference would another seven months make?

The delicate balance between silly and serious is the eternal dilemma of Bond movies and one that, try as they might, they will never truly resolve. Gadgets are just one part of the Bond experience and not as integral to the overall experience as you think since their only purpose is to help Bond move along in the story by overcoming obstacles so it's very possible to write a story without involving them (especially since it can seem like he's too reliant on them and the serious ones are about him proving himself without gadgets). A better parallel to Indiana Jones would be if you took out the whip - sure, it's one of his most iconic characteristics but it doesn't break the world completely if he has to figure out other ways to progress without it.

That's a good analogy. But I feel it's not just the gadgets though they are trying to remove from Bond's uniqueness. They are trying to make him less promiscuous the last few movies as well, but I feel that also differentiates him from other movie spies. If people want a gadgetless, non-promiscuous spy, wouldn't they just rather watch Bourne, and Bond should stick to his more different qualities?

Exactly,i miss the days of spy who loved me, and goldfinger, which are one of the best film escapades

He's still not exactly monogamous in the Craig films; he normally sleeps with at least one disposable girl and then the main Bond girl.

He certainly is still a womanizer, but that doesnít mean he isnít monogamous while with the main Bond girl. Sleeping with a partner one at a time while not committed to another doesnít make you non monogamous.
Now, if he slept with others while he was committed, that would be a different story.

I don't think that's out of moral imperative but just because it gets in the way of the storytelling. If he cheated on a woman who was meant to be his sort of partner, a modern audience would expect that to be addressed in an internet era where people analyse plots to every minute detail, and in an action film like this, it seems a bit soap opera.

Apart from Tracy and Vesper, I wouldn't have said Bond was 'committed' to any of the Bond girls. Not to say that there isn't one but I can't recall a situation where Bond was two-timing; it's normally that the first girl he is with is either fodder and killed off before the main Bond girl is on the scene or it's still in the will-they-won't-they stage.

The only move towards monogamy is that because the Craig ones are more clearly sequels, they carry love interests over to the next film, simply because they want it to be less episodic rather than a moralistic desire to make him a one-woman man.

You ready? You look ready.
The old Bond has no place in the modern world. They are trying to modernize him, which means less guns and buns.
