178. The invisible man

The title basically explains all you need to know about the movie, but there is a lot more than just an invisible man. This film showcased things missing from most horror films of the 30's in that there is humor, not to mention groundbreaking special effects for the time. Claude Rains does a masterful job of playing the brilliant young scientist gone mad. One wonders how Claude got the character's cynical wit, his being a proper Englishman and all that. Overall, it's a great horror thriller from the old days.
