This might just do nobody any good.
Y’all like to talk about how Network gets more relevant every year but watching parts of Blazing Saddles right now can be unsettling.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right

nice post guys

I would probably go with Chinatown as my favourite as the most flawless.

As far as the Godfathers go I don't think either is perfect, the original for me seems to loose focus rather after the restaurant assassinations and in the sequel I don't think the Vito sections are quite as interesting plus were latter clearly outdone by Once Upon A Time In America.

Since then, I've seen a couple of good ones...
Conversation Piece
The Yakuza
Swept Away

I'd also add:
Taking of Pelham One Two Three
Lenny (even though they made him out to be a priest; despite being sure Fosse has heard a record or two)

My Favorites from 1974

The Godfather pt II Coppola

China Town- Polanski

Young Frankenstein- Mel Brooks

Murder on the Orient Express

Blazing Saddles- Mel Brooks

The Conversation- Coppola

Two by Coppola and Two by Mel Brookes. Those two directors must have been busy.
