My life isn't written very well.
Theater: JAWS

Cable: The Exorcist, mind you cable didn't really exist in the 70's, and in California there were 2 major movie networks that you had to subscribe to: DIRECT TV and ON Television. It was like cable, in that you needed a box to unscramble the picture, however it was only one channel with 24 hour airtime.

That was the first cable channel I ever used as well. Except I remember it only being on for about 6-8 hours a night...with the last couple of hours being dedicated to Playboy type softcore porn.

Perhaps it was rated PG then..don't remember--it should have been rated R, because I'm glad my mother was right beside me. I think I was about 8 years old! Good observation MovieMaker!

Jaws was rated PG, with the additional warning in the trailers and posters that it "may be too intense for younger viewers". It was kind of a verbal PG-13, almost a decade before the gorey PG-rated Gremlins and Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom brought the actual PG-13 into being in 1984.

Film called Class of 1984 back in '82... I was 11 years old...

actually, moviemaker..it wasn't that the films were bad to be rated x
it was before this rating system...there were only three ratings..g, gp (changed to pg later on) and x...there was no r yet...

I think it was a Japanese version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Rated R.

MOVIE TITLE JUMBLE

The individual words are jumbled then the spaces are removed. PM the answer to me. First one with the answer wins.

Do you know my poetry?
I don't remember the first R film I ever viewed, but the first R film I saw at theaters was when I was nine, it was South Park - Bigger, Longer And Uncut. My brother and I thought it was great, while my mother hated the film.

Yeah that and boobs. Was Laser Blast rated R? I forget?

"I can't help it..."
I think the first R rated film I saw was Commando. I snuck in to see the re-release of The Exorcist a few years back and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 last year... I have yet to see an R rated film at the cinema legally... Two more years...

I think my first was Childs Play. I must have been about 7 or 8. I got my cousin in big trouble for letting me watch that one.

I watched Full Metal Jacket long before I knew what Alabama Black snake was. It was vulgar, to say the least... But it's funny how much of that movie I remember.

I just know they're coming to kill me.

Mine was Scarface thanks to a male babysitter my parents got out of desperation. I got out of bed and asked if I could stay up. He said 'yeah'.
Then I sat with him in the lazy boy and was horrified for like two hours. I was too scared to even tell him I wanted to go back to bed because then I'd be all alone in the dark.
Needless to say I watched 3 other R rated movies with him because I told my parents I liked him.

As long as my parents don't know I see alot of rated R movies at my friend's house.
I can't wait till my boyfriend is eighteen then me and him can go watch it together!Anyway my first movie was by mistake.I was at my mom and stepfather's house
and my stepbrother(who was living there at the time)was watching "The Wall" I had no idea what was going on but I liked it alot.I was about ten when I saw it.
However my mom was mad at my stepbrother when she found out said it was an awful movie to let a child watch. But hey I like Pink Floyd now and I still watch that movie it is great!
See you around.JM If you mean NC-17 (as an audlt movie)then no I had never seen one of those and I don't really plan too, yet....

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
If I remember right, the first R rated (and the age is 17, not 18 sir Holden) movie I saw was Predator...as for an age...6ish.

No clue as to what the first rated R movie I saw in a theater was, but the first NC17 film I've seen in a theater was the recently delightful A Dirty Shame.

I dont know why modern american parents love to sissyfy their children.. ... When I was 3 or 4 I could see anything as long as it wasnt right out porn.. but even movies with titties were acceptable... As long as it was the typical porn plot of "ohh my ship sunk, im on an island inhabited by no one else then a group of sexy amazonian women, Ohh look a "swamp" , opps me and the women all fell into this wet swamp.. what will happen to our white clothes... OMG ORGY"

You ready? You look ready.
It's much clearer that as the years go by parents seem to have less of a fuss of their childern seeing rated-R movies when they are younger.
