Akira.
On the Water Front

"On The Waterfront" is a great one - can't believe I didn't think of that one. It was my favorite movie at 17. I still remember totaling my mom's car just to get that movie. When all the chaos was (kinda) over, I sat downstairs in my room and its still the only movie I've watched back to back with no pause.

The first scene in Vertigo (1958), where "Scottie" (James Stewart) is left hanging off a building's roof, establishes Scottie's intense vertigo (actually acrophobia).

Dang... I am late. In the same vein I would think Irreversible would be the same. But I just can't remember anything about the first scene. Just the infamous 9 minute scene!

Return of the Living Dead. "These don't leak do they?" "Hell no. These things were made by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers." slaps the container and *pfffftf* Zombie Apocalypse.
