MASSIVE SEQUEL UPDATE !!!!!

(Thanks to MoFo Member Tolstoy)

Benji Returns: Rags to Riches (Release Date - August 27, 2004)

Plot: In what may be the first true “mutt buddy” picture in feature film history, the storyline finds Benji in an unwanted partnership with a hapless but loveable shaggy dog. The unlikely duo struggle to save Benji’s mother from the dangers of a greedy and irresponsible backyard breeder

Rush Hour 3 ( In Production - August 2005)

Plot: This time around, our two intrepid heroes will find themselves in New York City, to try to take down the scoundrels and criminals who cross their paths. New Line cochairman Bob Shaye wants to do a Rush Hour 3 and 4 together with RH3 as a cliffhanger.
Note* There is an (unconfirmed) rumor at the moment that Chan might be disenchanted with playing the charming Inspector Lee and might consider leaving the film. If that is the case, it is possible that he may be replaced with Chow Yun-Fat. While Fat is no doubt one of the handsomest and most talented performers in Hong Kong at the moment, this series belongs to Chan. Here's hoping he stays for one more go-round.

The Fast and the Furious 3 (Release Date: Summer, 2005)

Cast: Vin Diesel (Dominic Torretto)

Director: Not announced yet.

Screenwriter: Chris Morgan (cowriter of Cellular)

[U[Plot: After being allowed to get away by his new undercover cop friend in the first movie, fast-driving criminal Dominic Torretto (Diesel) heads down to Mexico where he lives a life as a fugitive, always just 10 seconds ahead of the law. Eventually, however, Torretto makes his way to Tokyo, Japan, which is the world's current capitol of street racing, where he is recruited to help bail out a friend who is in trouble with a powerful group of Japanese gangsters.

Clerks: Sell Out (Release Date: TBA 2005/2006/2007 - possibly direct-to-video?)

"Clerks: Sell Out Test Footage" - http://viewaskew.com/clerkstest/clerks.html

Notes:* Kevin Smith mentioned recently at his official site that he is now considering doing a series of 'Clerks' animated movies, but that they would be direct-to-video, not theatrical releases

MPAA Rating Notes: Nothing's official until the MPAA sees the final cut, but View Askew will be aiming for a "hard R."

Cast: (voices) Brian O'Halloran (Dante Hicks), Jeff Anderson (Randal Graves), Jason Mewes (Jay), Kevin Smith (Silent Bob); other cast not announced yet (obviously, Smith's "voice work" may be minimal)

Possible Cast (Voice): Alec Baldwin (Leonardo Leonardo; a character on the TV show); also, any of dozens of characters from the View Askewniverse could potentially appear in this film.

Director: Unknown; Steve Lotter directed the TV series, and would probably be involved with this film as well. Series creator Kevin Smith could conceivably take a directorial credit as well.

Screenwriter: Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), David Mandel (debut; one of the writers of the TV show)

Based Upon: The extremely short-lived animated 2000 TV show on ABC, which was based on the popular 1994 film, Clerks. TWO.

Sequel Note* The Dogma credits included a note telling fans to watch out for Clerks 2: Hardly Clerkin'. At the time that was written, this Clerks animated film was not planned, as its planning is a direct result of the cancellation of the series. One could argue that Clerks has had many sort-of-sequels, in as far as it was the first of Smith's View Askewniverse series. Officially, this film is not referred to as Clerks 2, but as a feature version of Clerks: The Animated Series.

Plot: Dante and Randal decide to make an ultra-cheap black-and-white movie about their wacky experiences at the Quick-Stop. Yes, this animated movie is what you think it is. (Except this time, "Silent Bob" won't be directing... and yet, in another way, he will. Whoa...)

Easy Rider 2 (Release Date - TBA 2005)

Cast: None announced yet.

Director: Currently seeking one.

Seeking clues about what truly happened, the young man gets on his motorcycle, retracing the path his father took in 1969...Then, Martin Landau recently told columnist Marilyn Beck that it's Fonda's character who's in jail, and it's his son who gets together with Nicholson's son for another motorcycle trip, this time to find the real murderer...The latest info was on 9/27/02 in a "Variety" story about this mentioning that the new character was Captain America's son.

Jimmy Neutron 2 (Release Date - TBA 2005)

Cast: Debi Derryberry (James Isaac "Jimmy" Neutron), Rob Paulsen (Carl Wheezer), Frank Welker (Goddard), Megan Cavanagh (Judy Neutron), Mark DeCarlo (Hugh Beaumont Neutron), Jeffrey Garcia (Sheen), Carolyn Lawrence (Cindy Vortex), Andrea Martin (Ms. Fowl), Candi Milo (Nick Dean), Crystal Scales (Libby) (voices)

Director: John A. Davis (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius)

Plot: These are the continuing adventures of Jimmy Neutron, a boy genius inventor who lives a relatively unassuming and normal boy's life in the town of Retroville... if normal boys had robot dogs and regularly were responsible for massive explosions and rocket rides. The exact details of this movie's plot aren't yet known, except that whereas the first movie took Jimmy into outer space, Jimmy's expected to journey into other strange areas in this sequel (possibly getting shrunk down, going underwater, or digging into the depths of the earth?). No one knows yet.

Gladiator 2 (Release Date - TBA 2006)

MPAA Rating Note* Nothing's official until the MPAA sees the final cut, but it's likely that the producers will be aiming for an R rating like the first film received.

Cast: None announced yet.

Director: Ridley Scott

Screenwriter: John Logan

Plot: Ridley Scott has confirmed that this movie's premise is a sequel that takes place 10-15 years after the end of the first movie. As young Lucius has grown to be an adult, we follow the political career of Lucius (Lucilla's son) and his potential emperor of Rome, as the last heir to Marcus Aurelius.
There is also a strong chance that Maximus (Russell Crowe) may return in some capacity, whether it be something that took place before the first movie, or as a memory/dream/ghost in the time after it.

Filming: Production is scheduled to start in early 2005. Likely contenders for the filming locations are Malta and Morocco, where much of the first movie was filmed.

Scooby-Doo 3 (Release Date - Spring, 2006)

Cast: Matthew Lillard (in talks) (Norville "Shaggy" Rogers), Neil Fanning (in talks) (voice of Scooby-Doo), Linda Cardellini (in talks) (Velma Dinkley), Sarah Michelle Gellar (in talks) (Daphne Blake), Freddie Prinze Jr. (in talks) (Fred); other cast not announced yet.

Director: Not announced yet.

Screenwriter: Paul Foley and Dan Forman

Plot[/U: At this point, there's nothing to really confirm.

Filming: There is currently no production start date for this movie, but if Warner Bros. is indeed aiming for early 2006, they will probably need to start filming by the spring of 2005 or so.

3001: The Final Odyssey (Release Date: Unknown - In Development)

Cast: None announced yet.

Director: Unknown.

Screenwriter: Unknown. It's possible Arthur C. Clarke would be involved on some level.

Based Upon: This movie will be based upon the fourth (and final) novel in Arthur C. Clarke's series that began with 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Plot: A thousand years later, astronaut Frank Poole is found floating in space, frozen at the point before death. Revived in 3001, he is informed of the events that had happened in the previous millennium, including the conversion of Jupiter into a second sun, and the evolution of life on Europa, a planet that was formerly one of Jupiter's moons. There's also many technological advances, but while that's all fascinating, what really interests Poole is what became of his old buddy, Dave Bowman...

Alien 5 (Release Date - TBA)

Director Ridley Scott told paper tz that he and Sigourney Weaver might have worked out a deal to do it. "About six months ago Sigourney Weaver said to me: "I'd like there to be a fifth film because I'd like to make a clean exit. You virtually created me back then, don't you want to kill me?" The 65-year-old director added: "Since then I've been thinking about it. But first of all you need a good story. I can't work without a good script." According to the report , via Ananova, Scott's now in talks with 20th Century Fox about Alien 5. It was previously rumoured that James Cameron might also get involved, but at this stage a Cameron-Weaver reunion is better than most couldv'e hoped for.

Batman: Year One = (See Batman Begins)

Battlefield Earth 2 (Release Date - Unknown/never; it's quite likely this film will never be made.

Supposed Returning Cast: John Travolta (Terl), Barry Pepper (Jonnie)

Returning Cast in Talks: Forest Whitaker (Ker), Kim Coates (Carlo); there may be other supporting cast from the first film who would return as well.

Plot: Continuing the story of humanity's war against the alien Psychlos, this film tells what happens after the success of the human rebellion led by Jonny (Pepper) over Terl's (Travolta) forces in Denver. Human civilization tries to rebuild itself, even as even more forces from outside come to Earth...

Filming: but no production date has been announced yet. There hasn't been any movement on this project for several months now, which suggests it's possibly shelved.

Beverly Hills Cop IV (Release Date - Unknown In Development)

Note* If a recent rumor submitted to MovieHole.net is to be believed, filming might start on this project in the fall of 2004.

Cast: Eddie Murphy (Axel Foley); other cast not announced yet. It's unknown if series regulars like Judge Reinhold and Bronson Pinchot would return for more.

Director: Not announced yet.

Plot: Not much is confirmed.

Caddyshack III (Release Date: Unknown)

Cast: None announced as confirmed yet.

Note * For historical interest that back in the 1990s when there was a 'Caddyshack' sequel in development at Warner Bros. called 'Back to the Shack,' Adam Sandler expressed interest in starring, but he soon signed on to star in Happy Gilmore in 1996 instead, so it's possible that satiated his interest in golf comedies.

Director: Not announced yet.

Plot:Nothing is currently known about this movie's premise, except that it will be a direct sequel to Caddyshack,

Filming: There is no production start date for this movie.

The Commitments 2 (Release Date: Unknown , In Development)

Cast: Many of the original cast (band) members will return, joined by new cast (including the pop group, the Corrs, two of whom were in the first). What hasn't been confirmed, is which actors will return. The majority of the cast are interested in coming back, including Andrew Strong, the fiery-haired singer who had been considered the biggest question mark. Andrew Strong's commitment will be pending on what he thinks of the script. So... with the script in the works, we should hear more soon.

Director: It's unknown if Alan Parker will return. Warren Leight is also a director (The Night We Never Met), so it's very possible he could be the new helmer.

Based Upon: This project is a sequel to the 1991 surprise hit, The Commitments, about an Irish band that plays R&B that (nearly) finds success, which was itself based on the novel by Roddy Doyle, who also wrote the books that inspired the movies The Snapper and The Van (which, with this story, formed The Barrytown Trilogy).

Plot: Not many details are known about this project yet, except that it will most likely feature some of the old band members getting the group back together with some new faces joining as well, all leading to a tour of America...

Daredevil 2 (Release Date - TBA 2007 ?)

Cast: Joe Pantoliano (Ben Urich); other cast not announced yet.

Cast Notes* It's very likely that several of the original movie's cast might return for this sequel. Joe Pantoliano (reporter Ben Urich), Jon Favreau (law partner Foggy Nelson) and Ellen Pompeo (legal assistant Karen Page) are near certainties. Ellen Pompeo, in particular, who had just the tiniest of appearances in the first film, could see her role increase substantially if rumors are accurate that this sequel might include elements of the "Born Again" storyline (in which she was the central character).
Talking to SciFi.com recently, Ben Affleck revealed that he is unsure he wants to star in another 'Daredevil' movie.

Director: Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil, Simon Birch

Screenwriter: Not announced yet.

Godzilla 2 (Shelved)

Cast: None officially announced.

Director: Unknown.( Roland Emmerich, who directed the first film, will not be returning.)

Screenwriter: Unknown.

Plot: There is no confirmed premise for this sequel.

Filming: There is currently no production date for this project, therefore looks to be shelved.

The Goonies 2: Goonies Never Say Die Unknown - (Release Date: TBA- In Development)

Note* Something that hasn't been confirmed about this project is whether it will definitely get a theatrical release, or if it will go to video, like many sequels do.

Producer: Richard Donner,

Cast: None announced as confirmed yet.

Cast Notes* If all of the (former) kids from the original movie returns, the cast would be: Sean Astin (Michael "Mikey" Walsh), Josh Brolin (Brandon "Brand" Walsh), Jeff Cohen (Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen), Corey Feldman (Clark "Mouth" Devereaux), Kerri Green (Andrea "Andy" Carmichael), Martha Plimpton (Stefanie "Stef" Steinbrenner) and Jonathan Ke Quan (Richard "Data" Wang). It's likely Joe Pantoliano and Robert Davi would return as Francis and Jake Fratelli. The performers who played Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) and "Sloth" Fratelli (John Matuszak) are both dead. Out of Corey Feldman's last 18 feature-length projects, only Bordello of Blood in 1996 made it to theaters in the USA, with the other 17 going direct to video or cable. So, if this project gets a theatrical release, it will have a distinction. According to a report over at AICN, Paul Walker has expressed interest to director Richard Donner about being involved as well. Since he's not a returning cast member, and obviously too old to be a new Goonie, might he be a Fratelli? The story also notes that the character of Sloth will be returning, though there's no mention about whom might be cast in the role.

Director: Not announced yet.

Plot: A new mystery arises, so Mikey (Astin) rounds up the old crew again, who are all now in their 20's, and they're off for another Goonies adventure.

Grosse Pointe Blank 2 (Release Date - Unknown)

Confirmed Cast: John Cusack (Martin Q. Blank)

Likely Cast: Jeremy Piven , Joan Cusack (extremely likely), Alan Arkin, Hank Azaria, and Minnie Driver (likely as well).

Director: Unknown.

Plot: Not much is known yet about this film's plot except that Cusack's character goes on a mission to find God, which takes him outside his hometown of Grosse Pointe, MI.

Lethal Weapon 5 (Release Date - Unknown)

Cast: None announced yet.

Possible Returning Cast: Mel Gibson (Det. Martin Riggs), Danny Glover (Det. Roger Murtaugh), Chris Rock (Det. Lee Butters), Rene Russo (Lorna Cole), Traci Wolfe (Rianne), Joe Pesci (Leo Getz)

Director: Richard Donner

Screenwriter: Not announced yet.

Plot: There are currently no known details

Filming: There is no production date for this movie, and no firm indication whether it will be made at all

Men in Black III (Release Date: Unknown)

Cast: Will Smith (in talks) (Jay), Tommy Lee Jones (in talks) (Kay); other cast not yet announced.

Cast Notes* Both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have expressed interest and enthusiasm for returning for a third movie , but neither are officially signed on yet (though it's extremely likely that if both actors don't sign on, there probably won't be a third movie).

Plot: Apparently, what exactly that idea entails hasn't been hinted at yet.

Operation Condor 3 (Release Date: Unknown Status: In Development )

Cast: Jackie Chan (Jackie Condor); other cast not announced yet.

Rumored Cast: Ekin Cheng, Akshay Kumar

Director: Jackie Chan (possibly with a codirector)

Screenwriter: Jackie Chan

Filming: Production had been scheduled to start in India sometime in early/mid 2002 (after Jackie wrapped Shanghai Knights) on a budget of at least $38.5 million, but it's been postponed for now with no known new production start date.

Plot: Currently being kept secret.

Pretty Woman 2 (Release Date: Unknown)

Cast: None announced yet.

Cast Notes* In order for this to happen at all, Julia Roberts and Richard Gere would have to agree, and sign on, but that hasn't happened yet, although neither has really said they wouldn't consider it, if an idea came up.

Plot: There are no known details about what this film might be about, if it's even made.

Rocky VI Release Date: Unknown - In Development)

Release Date Note * Stallone originally said, that he hoped to make this film next after Champs (AKA Driven), or not at all. If that happened, it would have maybe been released in 2002. Now if and when, MGM has signed Sylvester Stallone on to produce, star in and write (but not direct) this film.

Cast: Sylvester Stallone (Rocky Balboa); other cast not announced yet.

Director: None announced yet.

Screenwriter: Sylvester Stallone

Plot: The story this time around has an aging Rocky Balboa (in his 50s) (Stallone) getting in the ring one last time as a fund raiser for the youth center he now runs. Comparisons to George Foreman's comeback have been made.

Filming: There is currently no production date for this film, but when it does get a greenlight, the budget will be in the $10-15 million range.

Rocky Horror: The Second Coming (Release Date: Unknown - In Development)

Release Note* A very big "IF". You see, it's understood that O'Brien is actually writing a sequel to the play, not the movie, which could someday then be adapted into a film, if it's successful, etc.

Cast: Unknown.

Director: Unknown.

Songs: Richard O'Brien. One of the confirmed titles is "Frankie Phoenix", which would introduce Frank N. Furter back into the story, returning from the grave.

Screenwriter: Richard O'Brien (cowriter of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Shock Treatment)

Based Upon: This would be, of course, the sequel to the film that has defined "cult classic", 1975's The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Specifially, if this film is made, it would be based upon a new play written by Richard O'Brien that he hopes to stage in Germany, probably in 2002. If that run is successful, it could move to other venues, etc., and then if it's successful, it could become a movie someday. That's a lot of "ifs." This movie would follow another 1981 sequel, Shock Treatment, which followed the further exploits of Brad, Janet, and their friends the Hapschatts several years later.

Plot: Set nine months after the end of the first film, this tells the story of the pregnant Janet, now married to Brad, as they grapple with the reality that the baby will be either Rocky's or Dr. Frankenfurter's... (see interview about this linked below)

Filming: There will most likely be no production date for this film until some point after the play has been staged, and even then, that will depend upon whether the play is a huge hit, etc.

Romancing the Stone 3 (Release Date: Unknown)

Title Note* Back in the 1980's when the third film seemed like it could happen soon, there was a project for a third movie called The Crimson Eagle.

Cast: Michael Douglas (Jack Colton); other cast not announced yet.

Director: Unknown.

Plot: The details of this film aren't yet known. What is known is that Jack Colton (Douglas) is basically a modern-day adventurer of some low repute, and the first two films followed the course of his relationship with Joan Wilder (Turner), a romance novelist who (in the first film) was searching for her sister in South America. It's not known whether or not Joan or Ralph (DeVito) would return.

Terminator 4 (Release Date: Unknown - In Development)

Cast: Nick Stahl (John Connor), Claire Danes (Kate Brewster); other cast not announced yet.

Director: Unknown.

Plot: unknown

Filming: It's possible filming could start as early as sometime in 2004 for a summer, 2005 release.

True Lies 2 (Release Date - Unknown)

Cast: None officially announced yet.

Director: Currently seeking one.

Screenwriter: Jeff Eastin (Held Up)

Premise: Officially, no details about this film's plot have been announced yet. However...

.....ComingSoon.net asked Jim Cameron specifically about this project and he said "No, I won't be doing True Lies 2." That... pretty much answers *that* question. So, presuming that all other comments about the project still happening are true, the question now is who will Cameron find to direct it in his place (if it's not completely, completely dead).

Under Siege 3 (In Production - October 2004)

Plot: Casey Ryback is sent on a mission to take out Muslim terrorists who have taken over a flight from Israel to USA.

Cast: Ross Barbour (Casey Ryback)

Producer: Steven Seagal

The Legend of Zorro (Release Date: September 23rd, 2005)
Cast: . Catherine Zeta-Jones (Elena), Anthony Hopkins (in talks to play his first Zorro role) *

* The role of Zorro might be subject to change

Director: Martin Campbell

Plot: The details of this film aren't known, except that it will have a story that shows the continuing growth of the new Zorro (Hopkins) as a hero. One possibility (quoted from Elliott by Mania.com) is that we may also see Zorro getting a partner: Elena (CZJ) in a mask. Touche! For those unfamiliar with Zorro, he is a swashbuckling hero of California in the 19th century (wears all black, etches a big "Z" in things with his sword, etc).

Filming: Production is scheduled to start in July, 2004 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Wasnt Casino Royale the movie that Tarantino wanted to do? Are they still doing the same premise then (isnt that the first book?).

Yes it was the one Tarantino wanted to do. Same premise? Hmmmm.

I got my info though on Commanderbond.net

Updates:

Happy Birthday To Me (Release Date - TBA)

It will follow the "murderous adventures of the teenage daughter of the first film’s killer." Right now the script only exists in the form of a ten-page outline by Timothy Bond and Peter Jobin, but as the project gets fleshed out we'll be hearing a lot more.

My Bloody Valentine (Release Date - TBA)

No detailed plot as of yet, though plans are to include flashbacks of deleted "gory" footage from the first film.

Black Christmas Remake in the Works (Release Date - TBA)

It was announced several months back that Copper Heart Entertainment would be heading up the the remake of Bob Clark's Black ChristmasThere's currently work on a new draft of the script, as it enters the early stages of development.
Early 2005 is probably when it will go before the cameras, but there is no director on it and there’s been no casting done yet.

28 Weeks Later (Release Date - TBA)

Fox Searchlight is gearing up to produce a sequel to last year's hit, 28 Days Later. The studio has released that they are in talks with writer Rowan Joffe to pen the script. Danny Boyle is not expected to direct the film, but will most likely produce the film alongside writer Alex Garland and Andrew Macdonald.

Punisher 2 (Release Date - TBA)

The following is courtesy of comingsoon.net

Actor Thomas Jane talked about the possibilities of a sequel to his 2004 comic book inspired vigilante action flick, The Punisher. An avid comic fan, Jane is still very enthusiastic about the character and the possibilities, despite the lackluster box office and response to the first movie. According to sources, Marvel's Avi Arad is still intent on getting a sequel off the ground :

"Yeah, we have had discussions We want Jigsaw to be the bad guy," he said "We'll probably shoot it for much the same budget and probably go to Australia or South Africa where we can stretch the dollar. I'd do another one. It's a niche market film that will always be that, and that's what it should be."

He wasn't bothered at all by the perception that it was a disappointment at the box office. "In today's market, if it's not a blockbuster, then it's somehow considered a failure. I just don't understand that point of view. It saddens me that if a film doesn't sell a million Happy Meals that it's considered to be a failure, and that is just incorrect. We need to change our view of that. In today's market, there's certainly a place for the blockbuster type of film, but if you can make a film for $30 million and its grossed like 50-something so far worldwide and then do a bunch more business on DVD, then that film has done its job. I like movies that don't have to cater and appeal to everybody. Those movies are great, movies that cross the board and you can take your six-year old kid and your grandma, and everybody loves it. Fantastic! And there should be more movies like that and there will be, but there should also be movies that cater to people who like to see something different. People that have a need to see something that is off-the-beaten path a little bit. That's what 'The Punisher' is there for and that's what it's there to serve. It's for the fans and I'm very proud of it. I hope they don't ever process it down and turn it into something that it shouldn't be."

We wondered if maybe he'd approach the character any different having the first movie to work from. "Absolutely. I like the character a lot and I had a lot of fun with him. For me, the second one would be an exploration of the morality of what he does. He's so close to being a bad guy and does what he does cause more harm than good? Those kind of things are interesting for me. Where do you draw the line between what you're doing being justifiable and not?"

He told us a bit about how extreme the second movie may be. "The first one ended with him busting into that club and taking out all those people, and the second will open where the first one left off. It will just be incredibly violent and then it will just get more and more violent as the film goes on. That's the kind of film that it should be! It's a real take no prisoners punk rock kind of an action film, and g**ammit, it should piss a lot of people off!"

Hellboy 2 (Release Date - TBA)

del Toro on "Hellboy 2" :

I start writing it in the Fall and then it’ll depend on how fast we get a script we’re all happy about and how fast we can work out a budget and a date. It’s in the future, but I wouldn’t put a date on it. In the next Hellboy adventure he’ll (Hyde-Pierce’s Abe Sapien) have a more prominent role. She’ll be back (Blair). Jeffrey Tambor will be back. We will have a good class of weirdos around.

i'll probably see HellBoy and Punisher 2.

Jrs when does Hero come out? to America

Update: The Toy (Just Announced - Release Date Unknown)

Sid Ganis' company Out of the Blue Entertainment is producing a remake of Richard Pryor's 1982 film The Toy (which itself was adapted from 1976 French film Le Jouet) for Columbia. TV writers Bob Burris and Michael Ware are penning the script, and Ganis will produce.

The new film will take out the racial element of the Pryor film which drew criticism. It follows the same storyline where the bratty son of a powerful businessman chooses a mailroom clerk as his "toy" to keep him company on his annual visit to see his father.

Update: Starsky & Hutch 2 (Release date - TBA)

All systems are go for a 'Starsky & Hutch' sequel. No one's signed yet, Stiller and Wilson are more than interested. The story was pitched by Todd Phillips, who will probably direct again, in addition to writing the screenplay with John O'Brien.
No word on what the story is, except that it involves Starsky & Hutch going somewhere out of the original's setting. Filming could start as soon as 1st quarter 2005, with WB hoping for an October release, but may end up pushing it back to Thanksgiving

* Ring 2 Delay Note - Ring 2's release date was moved ahead due to production delays, a last-minute director switch last spring and a need to coordinate with actress Naomi Watts' schedule.

Elektra (January 14th, 2005)

The story will follow Elektra as she befriends a family she was hired to kill by the Order of the Hand, an elite group of assassins.

Both Ben Affleck (Daredevil) and Colin Farrell (Bullseye) will make cameo appearances in Jennifer Garner's upcoming action flick.
While Ben is reportedly going to be in some sort of dream sequence, it's unclear as to where or why Colin is in the film.
The movie also stars Goran Visnjic, Will Yun Lee, Terence Stamp and Bob Sapp.

Cabin Fever 2 - (TBA 2005)

Movie Hole is reporting that Lions Gate are readying a sequel to Eli Roth's smash-hit "Cabin Fever", for release sometime next year.

Though no principal actors have been signed yet, Actor Robert Harris has signed to reprise his role as Man Cadwell, the owner of the general store, and one of the few who actually survived the flesh-eating virus of the first film.

Adam Green is penning the follow-up. No word on whether Eli Roth will be involved.

Scooby Doo 3 - (Cancelled)

According to Sci Fi Wire , Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the two "Scooby-Doo" feature film, told Sci Fi Wire that plans for a third installment have been scrapped.

"There will be no Scooby 3," he said. "I think Warner Brothers made a mistake releasing it at the time they did. I think the movie's much better than the first movie, and I honestly thought it was going to do ridiculously good box office. But we had a bad timeslot. We had 13 movies open up in two weeks after we opened up. I mean, it did well, but it didn't do great, and it needed to do great."

X3 - 20th Century Fox has terminated its two-year deal with Bryan Singer and his Bad Hat Harry production company -- in the middle of its first year -- in the wake of the director's signing last month with Warner Bros. Pictures to direct a new Superman feature. Singer, who has begun working out of Superman's production offices at Warners, has not signed an overall deal with Warners, though he is developing a Logan's Run remake for the studio as well.

Superman V - According to Superman V , with the search for Superman stepping up, Bryan Singer has offered the role of Superman to Tom Welling! This will please many fans as he is BY FAR the most requested for the role. The offer is on the table and we believe it is a two-picture deal. With Singer wanting to get his Superman soon he wants an answer sometime before the end of the month.

Will Aliens vs.Predator make its release date?

A report over on IESB.net suggests that FOX's "Aliens vs.Predator" isn't even finished yet - despite being a week away from release.

"The studio is rushing the editors and the special effects houses to get this film ready by it's target release date of August 13th but they are not confident that it will be done by opening day. To make things worse 20th Century Fox has had to cancel the Junket for the film because they know that the print will not be ready in time. Junkets are normally held 1 to 2 weeks prior of the release date so the journalists can see the film and interview the talent involved and finally review the film. Even the films Red Carpet World Premiere that was going to be held at the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood on August 10th has been cancelled due to the same problem. So will we ybe but it might not be the final version that the studio wanted the audience to see".

Bugger i've been dying to see AvP.
My friend is going be piss about this cause hes getting the Predator SE coming out tuesday. Wouldnt it be funny if the Movie came out after the exp date on the ticket that comes inside of Predator SE.

I think Welling will make an OK Superman. He is pretty good in Smallville.
