My favorite thing about not being educated about anything is that things that might matter don't bother me in the slightest. Such as people who may or may not know how to play the instrument to which they are assigned.

You seem pretty educated to me!

ROUND 1 DAY 5

Palome Faith - New York VS. Deadbolt - Tijuana Hit Squad
The first was ok. The second was meh.

The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love VS. Martika - Toy Soldiers
The first was good but missed the mark. The second never gets old. I love its haunting nostalgic vibe

Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror VS. Hel - Mörker
The second sucked. Man In The Mirror is one of the finest MJ songs

ZYX - Bad Manners VS. Zhou Xuan - Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon
The first sounded cool, but that second one sounds like something my parents would be listening to if they were Chinese.

Billy Talent - River Below VS. Elvis Costello - Oliver's Army
I'm trying my best to appreciate something about Billy Talent, but they're just not my cup of tea.

Digits - Lost Dream VS. Barenaked Ladies - One Week
It's been...years since I haven't heard One Week.

The Three Degrees-When Will I See You Again VS. The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown - Fire
The 3 Degrees have really good harmony, and an amazing set of legs

Rush - YYZ VS. Rage Against The Machine - Fistfull of Steel
Tough match

Kokushoku Elegy - Kafun Hanzai VS. The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy)
I Want You is possibly The Beatles' most mind-blowing jam. I wonder why John did not write any more of these babies in his solo career

Sick Puppies - You're Going Down VS. Queensryche - Empire
The second sounded badass

Rush - Marathon VS. Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground
I've heard the second many times and always thought it was cool, but never knew who sang it

Isaac Hayes - Shaft VS. Bob Dylan - Tangled Up in Blue
Dylan song is great, but Shaft is hard to beat

Lonesome Wyatt and Rachel Brooke - Don't Leave Me VS. 2NE1 - Come Back Home
The first missed the mark

The Kinks - Strangers VS. Linkin Park - What I've Done
I love that Kinks song

Katatonia - My Twin VS. Frank Zappa - Why Does it Hurt When I Pee?
Sorry, Frank. But I think it hurt more listening to that song than when you pee

Slayer - Live Undead VS. Linda Ronstandt - Por Un Amor
Second one was bleh

ROUND 1 DAY 5

Palome Faith - New York VS. Deadbolt - Tijuana Hit Squad - Both are ok. Neither really grab me but I found the second less irritating.

The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love VS. Martika - Toy Soldiers - Voting against my own here. I adored Martika (looks and music. She was my big crush before Drew and I've nominated that song a few times)

Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror VS. Hel - Mörker - Never cared much for that Jacko song.

ZYX - Bad Manners VS. Zhou Xuan - Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon - I just preferred it.

Billy Talent - River Below VS. Elvis Costello - Oliver's Army - Another song I've always loved.

Digits - Lost Dream VS. Barenaked Ladies - One Week - I really don't like One Week.

The Three Degrees-When Will I See You Again VS. The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown - Fire - I think I've nominated the first myself sometime, but love Fire.

Rush - YYZ VS. Rage Against The Machine - Fistfull of Steel - It's more familiarity. I don't really care for either.

Kokushoku Elegy - Kafun Hanzai VS. The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy) - It goes on and does little for me, but it's still better.

Sick Puppies - You're Going Down VS. Queensryche - Empire - It worked better as background music. Don't really care for either.

Rush - Marathon VS. Sneaker Pimps - 6 Underground - I'm sure there must be some Rush songs I like, they've put out so much after all, but I'll be damned if I can think of any. It's probably a song I don't even know is them. Anyway, this is another I've nominated before.

Isaac Hayes - Shaft VS. Bob Dylan - Tangled Up in Blue - There's only a couple of Dylan tracks I really like and this is up against Shaft for crying out loud. Another song I've nominated, too.

Lonesome Wyatt and Rachel Brooke - Don't Leave Me VS. 2NE1 - Come Back Home - That's a pretty easy win.

The Kinks - Strangers VS. Linkin Park - What I've Done - Not a Kinks song I care much about. I tossed a coin.

Katatonia - My Twin VS. Frank Zappa - Why Does it Hurt When I Pee? - Am I just tired of it or do the songs get worse towards the end of a round?

Slayer - Live Undead VS. Linda Ronstandt - Por Un Amor - An easy win.

@mojofilter Are we gonna start the next round?
Yeah it's taking long enough with all the songs. If it's going to be 5 days between rounds....I dunno man...

Hahah!!! I'm on board, don't worry. If it looks like I fell asleep waiting, just kick me!!!

A system of cells interlinked
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris VS. Propaganda - Dr. Mabuse - Down with the Goo Goo Dolls!

Belouis Some - Imagination VS. Toni Harper - Lady Lonely Wasn't a fan of the first one

Kid Rock - American Badass VS. Nagisa ni Te - me, on the beach Man, Kid Rock is rough.

Charles Trenet - La Mer VS. Vicious Pink - Cccan't You See At least I can dance to the second one?

The Who-Athena VS. DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak I liked both, but vote goes to The Who

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside VS. DragonForce - Heroes of Our Time Yikes!

Depeche Mode - It's No Good VS. Devilskin - Never See The Light One of my favorite DM tracks of all time. I did like the other track too, but had to vote for The Mode.

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright VS. Whitewoods - Beachwalk Trippy effects on the second tune make it tough to enjoy. I may have liked it in nineteen-ninety-never.

HOME - Resonance VS. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Rainbow Connection The second tune was kind of a fun cover, but I dug the chill vibes of the first track.

John Morris - The Elephant Man Theme VS. Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction Awesome Megadeth tune!

Tommy James & The Shondells - Crimson and Clover VS. Blaze Foley - Election Day Crimson & Clover is a classic!

Frank and Moon Zappa - Valley Girl VS. David Bowie - Space Oddity Tough to beat this classic Bowie track...

Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers VS. blink-182 - The Rock Show Love that Chelsea Wolfe tune! So dark and spooky...

The Supremes - Come See About Me VS. Avatarium - The Starless Sleep Went for the more rockin' tune here...

Rasputina - The Olde Headboard VS. Band of Skulls - Wanderluster These bands were fairly similar; something that doesn't happen often in these random tournaments. The second had a bit more of a smokey coolness to it, so it got the vote. I really liked both.

Kim Wilde - You Came VS. Joy Division - Dead Souls Didn't like either very much

Charlie - Spacer Woman VS. The Stooges - Down On The Street Didn't care for the first tune.

Shinedown - Second Chance VS. Depeche Mode - Everything Counts Another classic Depeche Mode tune.

Linx - Intuition VS. Anderson Paak - Comedown Dat funk...

Crystal Fighters - Follow VS. J. Geils Band - Centerfold Didn't like the stabby synths in the first track...

Madonna - Live To Tell VS. Lissie - Blood and Muscle Although I like some of her songs, Madonna wishes she was even half the vocalist that Lissie is. Lissie sings that second tune with so much feeling...

Lovage - Book of the Month VS. Pink Floyd-Free Four Not a big fan of that era for Floyd. Voted for the other track.

Hell - Darkhangel VS. Thin Lizzy - Out in the Fields Not a big fan of either!

Kid Ink - Cali' Dreamin' VS. Tom Waits - Goin' Out West Not a tough choice for me

ROUND 1 DAY 6

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris VS. Propaganda - Dr. Mabuse
The second was new to me, and more my kind of thing. The Goo Goo Dolls is one of those bands I couldn't get into.

Belouis Some - Imagination VS. Toni Harper - Lady Lonely
Loved that. Hadn't heard it in a while! Need to add it to my 80s ipod folder. The second was awesome too. Tough vote. Went with the ass mobiliser.

Kid Rock - American Badass VS. Nagisa ni Te - me, on the beach
Loved the backing vocals on the second. It took a little while to take off, but I liked it. The first was kind of in my face, but I don't mind aggressive, obviously. I listen to grind. But I don't really know Kid Rock's stuff apart from his one runaway hit that went global. I don't really know what to make of his sound.

Charles Trenet - La Mer VS. Vicious Pink - Cccan't You See

The Who-Athena VS. DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak
I love DJ Shadow. I've seen him live, too. ****ing cool.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside VS. DragonForce - Heroes of Our Time
Oh ****, no idea which way to vote. Might have to revisit this. RHCP is one of those bands that's hit & miss with me, so it depends on the song and this isn't a fav. But I really don't like DragonForce's music. They're funny to watch live, though.

Depeche Mode - It's No Good VS. Devilskin - Never See The Light
Not really sure how I feel about the second. I liked the bass...

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright VS. Whitewoods - Beachwalk
The second was a first for me, and wow, it's quite ****ed up.

HOME - Resonance VS. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Rainbow Connection
The first was new to me and I liked it. I'm also not that great with that kind of punk.

John Morris - The Elephant Man Theme VS. Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction
I love that theme. It's sad and creepy. Never been a Megadeth fan although a couple of songs are good. This is one of them. But it couldn't beat The Elephant Man.

Tommy James & The Shondells - Crimson and Clover VS. Blaze Foley - Election Day
One of the biggest getoutamyheads this contest. I'd been thinking about this song for the last couple of tournaments, including this one.

*Frank and Moon Zappa - Valley Girl VS. David Bowie - Space Oddity
*Had to use this alternate link for Frank & Moon Zappa
OOOOH TOUGH, I love both David Bowie and Frank Zappa. REALLY HARD CHOICE.

Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers VS. blink-182 - The Rock Show
Easy vote, I love Chelsea Wolfe and don't like blink182.

The Supremes - Come See About Me VS. Avatarium - The Starless Sleep
Another easy vote as I love the first, not a fan of the second.

Rasputina - The Olde Headboard VS. Band of Skulls - Wanderluster
Another tough one, as I liked both. I hadn't heard the first before. Band of Skulls had the edge.

Kim Wilde - You Came VS. Joy Division - Dead Souls
That's a great Joy Division song.

Charlie - Spacer Woman VS. The Stooges - Down On The Street
I liked the first, but love the second.

Shinedown - Second Chance VS. Depeche Mode - Everything Counts
I love Depeche Mode.

Linx - Intuition VS. Anderson Paak - Comedown

Crystal Fighters - Follow VS. J. Geils Band - Centerfold

Madonna - Live To Tell VS. Lissie - Blood and Muscle

Lovage - Book of the Month VS. Pink Floyd-Free Four
I love Lovage, they're great fun and I hope you all laughed and cringed at that one... but that Pink Floyd song comes off one of my all time favs of theirs, in fact, I almost voted for Obscured by Clouds as my fav PF album in the countdown.

Hell - Darkhangel VS. Thin Lizzy - Out in the Fields

Kid Ink - Cali' Dreamin' VS. Tom Waits - Goin' Out West
Tom Waits is great.

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris VS. Propaganda - Dr. Mabuse

Belouis Some - Imagination VS. Toni Harper - Lady Lonely

Kid Rock - American Badass VS. Nagisa ni Te - me, on the beach

Charles Trenet - La Mer VS. Vicious Pink - Cccan't You See

The Who-Athena VS. DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside VS. DragonForce - Heroes of Our Time

Depeche Mode - It's No Good VS. Devilskin - Never See The Light

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright VS. Whitewoods - Beachwalk

HOME - Resonance VS. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Rainbow Connection

John Morris - The Elephant Man Theme VS. Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction

Tommy James & The Shondells - Crimson and Clover VS. Blaze Foley - Election Day

Frank and Moon Zappa - Valley Girl VS. David Bowie - Space Oddity

Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers VS. blink-182 - The Rock Show

The Supremes - Come See About Me VS. Avatarium - The Starless Sleep

Rasputina - The Olde Headboard VS. Band of Skulls - Wanderluster

Kim Wilde - You Came VS. Joy Division - Dead Souls

Charlie - Spacer Woman VS. The Stooges - Down On The Street

Shinedown - Second Chance VS. Depeche Mode - Everything Counts

Linx - Intuition VS. Anderson Paak - Comedown

Crystal Fighters - Follow VS. J. Geils Band - Centerfold

Madonna - Live To Tell VS. Lissie - Blood and Muscle

Lovage - Book of the Month VS. Pink Floyd-Free Four

Hell - Darkhangel VS. Thin Lizzy - Out in the Fields

Kid Ink - Cali' Dreamin' VS. Tom Waits - Goin' Out West

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris VS. Propaganda - Dr. Mabuse (one of my few guilty pleasure songs)

Belouis Some - Imagination VS. Toni Harper - Lady Lonely

Kid Rock - American Badass VS. Nagisa ni Te - me, on the beach (Kid Rock is awesome and yes he's badass)

Charles Trenet - La Mer VS. Vicious Pink - Cccan't You See (hate both)

The Who-Athena VS. DJ Shadow - Nobody Speak (I don't like The Who but it's still better than the second song)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside VS. DragonForce - Heroes of Our Time (down with both I wouldn't be mad if the RHCP win and it's a great song from them)

Depeche Mode - It's No Good VS. Devilskin - Never See The Light (I don't like Depeche Mode and this song is no exception)

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright VS. Whitewoods - Beachwalk (even if Offspring suck in live show it's still a great song)

HOME - Resonance VS. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Rainbow Connection

John Morris - The Elephant Man Theme VS. Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction (One of the best band I've ever seen live and Symphony Of Destruction is always amazing to hear)

Tommy James & The Shondells - Crimson and Clover VS. Blaze Foley - Election Day

Frank and Moon Zappa - Valley Girl VS. David Bowie - Space Oddity (probably the best David Bowie song even if it has been nominated 100 times before)

Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers VS. blink-182 - The Rock Show (Great band, great song, one of the few band that rock my childhood)

The Supremes - Come See About Me VS. Avatarium - The Starless Sleep

Rasputina - The Olde Headboard VS. Band of Skulls - Wanderluster

Kim Wilde - You Came VS. Joy Division - Dead Souls

Charlie - Spacer Woman VS. The Stooges - Down On The Street

Shinedown - Second Chance
VS. Depeche Mode - Everything Counts (one of the best modern rock track ever)

Linx - Intuition VS. Anderson Paak - Comedown

Crystal Fighters - Follow VS. J. Geils Band - Centerfold (My blood runs cold!! such a classic)

Madonna - Live To Tell VS. Lissie - Blood and Muscle (I would actually vote for anybody against Madonna.)

Lovage - Book of the Month VS. Pink Floyd-Free Four (amazing Floyd song)

Hell - Darkhangel VS. Thin Lizzy - Out in the Fields (great tune)

Kid Ink - Cali' Dreamin' VS. Tom Waits - Goin' Out West
