Classic Rock Song Tournament

Tools

If it were any other time I would most likely want to join this, but I have way too much going on right now. But if you ever do a second tournament, give me a shout.

@Sexy Celebrity, one last switch!

Take out The Police and replace it with this:

But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!” ~ Rocky Balboa

Its simple let people you know are playing after so long a time and let each person have 4 bonus picks near the end of the process to have nominated songs.

This was the runner up of Song Tournament 10.

If you'd like to change it to something else, please do, soon.

Otherwise, it'll go through this tournament - maybe it'll win this time?

Stuck at work and there are a few songs I'm not really familiar with (or at least don't recognize the titles of) so I'll have to give them a listen before I vote. I'll do that when I get home in a few hours.

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
make that, a lot sooner

ROCK 1, PART 1

3. Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son vs. Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls

4. The Who-Squeeze Box vs. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do

7. Eric Clapton - Cocaine vs. The Allman Brothers-Whipping Post

8. Santana - Black Magic Woman vs. Motorhead - Ace of Spades

ROCK 1, PART 1

1. Jefferson Starship - Jane vs. Blackfoot - Train, Train-Jane is that band's last great song before they became an embarrassment in the 80's, but it's outclassed here.

2. Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll vs. Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song-I never really cared for the first song, and even if I did, it wouldn't get my vote in this match.

3. Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son vs. Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls-I love both, and that's easily my favorite song from Queen.

4. The Who-Squeeze Box vs. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do-This is close, two more I really love.

5. ACDC - Whole Lotta Rosie vs. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train-I used to love Crazy Train but got sick of it many years ago. I hardly enjoy it at all anymore.

6. Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night vs. Aerosmith - Make It-Neither are favorites, although I like both plenty.

7. Eric Clapton - Cocaine vs. The Allman Brothers-Whipping Post-Both are great, but that guitar towards the end of Whipping Post is insanely great.

8. Santana - Black Magic Woman vs. Motorhead - Ace of Spades-That's a pretty good song but I never really got into Motorhead.

make that, a lot sooner

Jesus Ed, I guess we agree.

Well I had this in another tournament:

(On phone, apologies)

OK the link worked

My votes will be submitted over afternoon coffee

ROCK 1, PART 1

1. Jefferson Starship - Jane vs. Blackfoot - Train, Train
I like the Starship song and I don't think I've heard this one before, but I'm liking that harmonica.

2. Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll vs. Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Tough call. I like both songs, though neither is my favorite from either artist.

3. Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son vs. Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls
My nom, but I'd still vote this way if it wasn't. I do like Kansas though.

4. The Who-Squeeze Box vs. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do
Not crazy about either artist or either song.

5. ACDC - Whole Lotta Rosie vs. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
I'm fairly indifferent to both artists, but I like this song.

6. Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night vs. Aerosmith - Make It
Bay City Rollers are not at all what I think of when I think of Classic Rock and Aerosmith is, but I'm not digging that particular Aerosmith song at all.

7. Eric Clapton - Cocaine vs. The Allman Brothers-Whipping Post
The other song is good, but I love Clapton.

8. Santana - Black Magic Woman vs. Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Had this been the original (Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac) version of Black Magic Woman, I'd have voted the other way.

ROCK 1, PART 1

1. Jefferson Starship - Jane vs. Blackfoot - Train, Train
Both great songs but I gotta go with my own nom because I favor the diversity of musical arrangement over the huffin and a snortin of the latter.

2. Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll vs. Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Zeppelin always wins over Joan Jett.

3. Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son vs. Queen - Fat Bottomed Girls
I hear both entirely too much but Queen gets it because I hear this slightly less.

4. The Who-Squeeze Box vs. Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do
I guess I have to pick one and not my own again.

5. ACDC - Whole Lotta Rosie vs. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Not a fan of solo Ozzy.

6. Bay City Rollers - Saturday Night vs. Aerosmith - Make It
I dig early Aerosmith's grooves. Raw.

7. Eric Clapton - Cocaine vs. The Allman Brothers-Whipping Post
No competition here for me..

8. Santana - Black Magic Woman vs. Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Hands down.

Precisely.,,

...except the 'outclassed" part..
