I shall piecemeal these as and when I get a little free time, sadly my gardens don't self-maintain and whilst the weather is of the rare gardening variety over here that's where my priority lies. Still have no idea why we are cramming all this into just three sets when four or five were perfectly possible (and for me far more manageable) but hey-ho I guess

BATTLE ONE CONTINUED

Frank Ocean - Godspeed VS. Lou Reed - Sad Song
Close - had to listen to both twice to decide (21 minutes)

Marvin Gaye - Stubborn Kind of Fellow VS. John Denver - Dreams
Both decent but more in the mood for the former today (28 minutes)

Peter Gabriel - Big Time VS. Marvin Gaye - Pride and Joy
As much as I like Marvin, Gabriel is just too good here (35 minutes)

NF - Mansion (ft. Fleurie) VS. Rag 'n' Bone Man - Grace
What the hell was that other thing??? Oh sorry, that was the unskippable ad that preceded it - both great tracks (45 minutes)

Rag 'n' Bone Man - No Mother VS. Bob Seger - Against the Wind
Both decent but relatively easy choice for me (55 minutes)

Bob Seger - Turn the Page VS. Peter Gabriel - Lay your hands on me
Decent enough from Gabriel but that's classic Seger (1 hour 7 minutes)

John Denver - On The Wings Of A Dream VS. Lou Reed - Satellite of Love
Both have their moments but neither are favourites of mine (1 hour 16 minutes)

George Harrison - Poor Little Girl VS. Frank Ocean - Novacane
To be Frank I prefer George here (1 hour 24 minutes)

John Denver - Annie's Song VS. Bryan Adams - Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven
A classic full of childhood memories and one I still break into occasionally (1h 33)

NF - Real VS. John Denver - Dreamland Express
Christians can be Angry Bob's too ya ken (1h 42)

John Denver - Seasons Of The Heart VS. Peter Gabriel - Digging In The Dirt

Gabriels' is far more my groove here (1h 53)

George Harrison - Love Comes to Everyone VS. Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
Love that Seger - did I mention I once won a promo copy of the LP (2h)

NF - Turn The Music Up VS. Marvin Gaye - Hitchhike
It's good from Marv (most is tbh) but I've lived my whole life so far turning the music up, not gonna stop now (2h 6)

Steve Perry - She's Mine VS. Bryan Adams - Back To You (Unplugged)
Both fairly standard tracks imo, preferred the Perry track (2h 15)

Bryan Adams - Run To You VS. Steve Perry - What Was

Opposite way round this time - maybe I'm just feeling reckless?(2h 23)

Frank Ocean - Godspeed VS. Lou Reed - Sad Song
Not keen on either, but Lou Reed was a little more tolerable

Marvin Gaye - Stubborn Kind of Fellow VS. John Denver - Dreams
Marvin Gaye was a cool mother f***** back in the day!

Peter Gabriel - Big Time VS. Marvin Gaye - Pride and Joy
One of the coolest Marvin Gaye songs versus a mediocre song by PG.

NF - Mansion (ft. Fleurie) VS. Rag 'n' Bone Man - Grace
Rag's song was decent, but NF's song was catchy

Rag 'n' Bone Man - No Mother VS. Bob Seger - Against the Wind
Bob Seger's best song in my opinion

Bob Seger - Turn the Page VS. Peter Gabriel - Lay Your Hands On Me
Seger's second best song in my opinion. PG's song was too odd

John Denver - On The Wings Of A Dream VS. Lou Reed - Satellite of Love
Could never get into Denver's music. Lou Reed's song was cool

George Harrison - Poor Little Girl VS. Frank Ocean - Novacane
One of my favorite George songs. Completely overlooked and underrated

John Denver - Annie's Song VS. Bryan Adams - Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven
I know I'm in the minority here, but I love that Bryan Adams song. Takes me back...

NF - Real VS. John Denver - Dreamland Express
NF song sounds like something Eminem would sing. I like it!

John Denver - Seasons Of The Heart VS. Peter Gabriel - Digging In The Dirt
One of my favorite PG songs

George Harrison - Love Comes to Everyone VS. Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
George's song is weak compared to Seger's ramblin' (sorry @SilentVamp, I had to give my honest feedback here, and I am a huge George Harrison fan)

NF - Turn The Music Up VS. Marvin Gaye - Hitchhike
Marvin! One helluva performer he was, and that voice...

Steve Perry - She's Mine VS. Bryan Adams - Back To You (Unplugged)
I love Steve Perry, but that song is weak in comparison to Bryan's amazing acoustic number

Bryan Adams - Run To You VS. Steve Perry - What Was
With the exception of a few songs, Steve's solo work does not match up to his work with Journey. Besides, Bryan Adams' song is one of his rockiest and best

@Chypmunk, you crack me up logging in the time. Take all the time you want. If the matches are not decided by the time everybody else votes, I will not go forward until you cast all your votes.

No rush here.

Thanks - same situation as before basically then (I'm not stupid either), I'm not known for holding these things up generally so they'll be done as expediently as possible. In fact, I shall knock another couple off right now

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
I'll be getting my votes in this evening. LOVE the great variety of singers by the way!!

BATTLE ONE CONTINUED

Frank Ocean - Godspeed VS. Lou Reed - Sad Song
Took a while to figure this one out and even in the end, I'm still not 100%

Marvin Gaye - Stubborn Kind of Fellow VS. John Denver - Dreams
Quite a lovely song by John, but then, what isn't? While John sent me drifting, soft and easy; Marvin got me dancing

Peter Gabriel - Big Time VS. Marvin Gaye - Pride and Joy
Remember Big Time from MTv, always liked it. Sorry to see it go against Marvin

NF - Mansion (ft. Fleurie) VS. Rag 'n' Bone Man - Grace
NF had a VERY Emimen feel to this song, it was good, but there was a more prolific emotion going on in Grace

Rag 'n' Bone Man - No Mother VS. Bob Seger - Against the Wind
This was an utter shock and an upset. Going in I was FULLY ready to vote, hands down for Seger. LOVE the man and this is an excellent song of his; but holy crap I am really enjoying Rag n Bone Man and the beat to this one just won be over.

Bob Seger - Turn the Page VS. Peter Gabriel - Lay your hands on me
It's Seger. It's Turn the Page. That's all I need to say.

John Denver - On The Wings Of A Dream VS. Lou Reed - Satellite of Love
This was a very difficult one to chose on. In the end I had to go with Lou.

George Harrison - Poor Little Girl VS. Frank Ocean - Novacane
Another VERY difficult one. Both moved me, both had beautiful sound and emotion to them.

John Denver - Annie's Song VS. Bryan Adams - Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven
Gotta go with Annie's Song. Such beautiful lyrics.

NF - Real VS. John Denver - Dreamland Express
just a little too much angry youth for me on this one, gonna take Dreamland Express

John Denver - Seasons Of The Heart VS. Peter Gabriel - Digging In The Dirt
All kinds of difficult ones to pick from. . .

George Harrison - Love Comes to Everyone VS. Bob Seger - Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
In the top ranking for Seger songs from his very early days.

NF - Turn The Music Up VS. Marvin Gaye - Hitchhike
Dammit, why couldn't this NF tune be against someone else?! I would've HAPPILY voted for it.

Steve Perry - She's Mine VS. Bryan Adams - Back To You (Unplugged)

Bryan Adams - Run To You VS. Steve Perry - What Was
bounced back and forth on this these last two. Perry with a little more groove and then with this one, Adams rocked a little better.

Frank Ocean - Godspeed VS. Lou Reed - Sad Song

Marvin Gaye - Stubborn Kind of Fellow VS. John Denver - Dreams

Peter Gabriel - Big Time VS. Marvin Gaye - Pride and Joy

It'll be piecemeal from me again, might as well make a little bit of an inroad now whilst on a little break....

BATTLE ONE CONTINUED

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Human VS. Marvin Gaye - Ain't That Peculiar
Tough decision, both are great

Lou Reed - Berlin VS. John Denver - Shanghai Breezes
Not so tough a decision but the Denver song is nice too in it's own way

John Denver - Calypso VS. Frank Ocean - Songs for Women
Another tough one, Calypso is just more solid all the way through for me

Lou Reed - Lisa Says VS. NF - Intro
I love Intro whereas Lisa Says is only ok for me

Frank Ocean - Strawberry Swing VS. Rag 'n' Bone Man - Skin
Sorry Frank but gotta go with granny's boy here

Bryan Adams - Somebody VS. NF - How Could You Leave Us
I'll stick with the one with genuine emotion

Steve Perry - Missing You VS. Bryan Adams - Heat of the Night
Not mad on either tbh but an easy enough choice

Bryan Adams - Heaven VS.George Harrison - This Is Love
Easy choice for me, maybe if Penguin Corpse covered Heaven I might be swayed the other way though

John Denver - Follow Me VS. Lou Reed - Coney Island Baby
Tough on Denver here, he'd have got my vote against a few in this set but this is Lou on top form

Bob Seger - Fire Lake VS. George Harrison - Give Me Love
Both good listens

George Harrison - What Is Life VS. Marvin Gaye - Too Busy Thinking About My Baby
Like both

Steve Perry - You Better Wait VS. Bob Seger - Feel Like a Number
Gotta go with Perry here

Peter Gabriel - Games Without Frontiers VS. Steve Perry - I Stand Alone
Just as fresh today as it was 37 years ago

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Wolves VS. Steve Perry - Foolish Heart
Another vote for granny's fella

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Human
VS. Marvin Gaye - Ain't That Peculiar - two great songs, that was hard

Lou Reed - Berlin VS. John Denver - Shanghai Breezes

John Denver - Calypso
VS. Frank Ocean - Songs for Women - Calypso is a lovely song to listen to on a sunny day like today

Lou Reed - Lisa Says VS. NF - Intro

Frank Ocean - Strawberry Swing VS. Rag 'n' Bone Man - Skin

Steve Perry - Missing You VS. Bryan Adams - Heat of the Night - not a fan of either of these much

Bryan Adams - Heaven VS. George Harrison - This Is Love

John Denver - Follow Me VS. Lou Reed - Coney Island Baby like both of these but like the Coney Island lyrics more

Bob Seger - Fire Lake VS. George Harrison - Give Me Love - like Fire Lake too, but this is one of my fave GH songs so going with my fellow scouser

Steve Perry - You Better Wait VS. Bob Seger - Feel Like a Number

Peter Gabriel - Games Without Frontiers VS. Steve Perry - I Stand Alone

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Wolves
VS. Steve Perry - Foolish Heart
