It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!” ~ Rocky Balboa

I'm in if this is still open for nominations tomorrow night.
(I'm too tired to pick songs and find links tonight. )

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
that's weird, commented on this and now it's gone. . .

any flavor, I'm in, I'll be going with Marvin Gaye. Should have it tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

BTW excellent choice, @cricket! HUGE fan of his

know exactly what ya mean; ya got a favorite of mine in there, Ramblin Gamblin Man - GREAT tune
That's one of my favorites too. I also wanted to pick Roll Me Away and Tryin' to Live My Life Without You, but I couldn't find the best versions.

Women will be your undoing, Pépé
Those are really good too.

love his really old stuff; Lucifer, 2+2 On my Mind, East Side Story, Back in '72. . .

One of my older brothers got to see him at Joe Louis, here in Detroit when they taped the Live Bullet album back in the 70's. I never got to see him play but I've heard from many that he does an amazing show.

I'll need another day before I can post my noms. There's a good chance that I broke my finger tonight, and typing is very painful right now.

If you can't wait and you want to start without me, I'll understand.

Master of My Domain
So, are we doing this? Hopefully more people join. I barely mustered up the courage to join a tournament!

Come on then Gats, name your man!

So many great singers but I'm not prepared to see my lifelong favourite singer Bob Dylan crash and burn with people laying hate on him, so he's not my choice. Springsteen would be good but I can't separate him from the E St Band and that amazing bunch of musicians. Could've done some of his solo stuff I suppose from Nebraska and Devils and Dust etc, but so many of those are slow contemplative songs which never go down well either so I'm keeping him close to my heart.
Going to nominate a guy who's written some good stuff recently:

Rag 'n'Bone Man - Lay My Body Down

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Life In Her Yet

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Wolves

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Human

Rag 'n' Bone Man - As You Are

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Grace

Rag 'n' Bone Man - Skin

Rag 'n' Bone Man - No Mother
