Well, Clarice is from Virginia. That adds another complication to the accent, I guess.

Yeah, maybe it would be more difficult to master.

Ralph Fiennes would be a good Lecter but Red Dragon might have tainted him for some.
I think there was a point where I forgot how good Ralph Fiennes is. Red Dragon actually started to thaw my opinion of him because he made me emotionally invest in the character and feel sorry for him, just as Will Graham does when he finally reads the killer's journal. I thought he was brilliant as Dolarhyde, and that's pretty good following Tom Noonan.

Red Dragon was on last night and I saw the end again. I did think to myself: where's Graham while Hannibal is happening, and when Lecter escaped in Silence of the Lambs, why didn't he go after Graham?

"Drunk in Florida with a face that looks like a damned Picasso."

Watched The Man from UNCLE?
Wasn't she playing a German? If not... that's not a good sign.

Ah yes. It looked like he was

shot in the face in Red Dragon, and he's actually stabbed in the face in the book.

I love Fiennes, but I'm not a fan of his Dolarhyde. Tom Noonan's performance is so ingrained in me, I might be biased, though.

Yeah, it takes some getting used to because Noonan was so physically imposing in the film as well – that catches your imagination and stays with you. I think Fiennes was good for really making Dolarhyde sympathetic in a different way, where he's practically playing him as a child in some moments. Very good. I don't know what Richard Armitage was like as I haven't seen him.

Armitage was ok. Definitely more Fiennes than Noonan.

I'm very tempted to give Hannibal a go, even at this late stage .
