I watched this movie again recently, and I was struck by the very end frame. We know about oranges and the colour orange meaning danger or death in the film. So I noticed that Michael's wedding ring fades out into a tiny orange ball. Anybody think that was a tiny subtle foreshadowing by FF Copolla?
Ending
Interesting. Never noticed that. Maybe.
Normally I'd say "nah, probably not," but there's a lot of very deliberate things in these films, so it wouldn't surprise me.

It is probably me over analysing it but once I was aware of the oranges and their significance, I was watching out for it, and it really struck me that (since, as you said, Coppola did everything on purpose) the very last frame of the film is warning us of danger for Michael.
