President Trump

You ready? You look ready.
I'm afraid if you want a taste of US politics the petty bickering must stay. Unfortunately it is not unique to the constituents.
Yeah, well I'm rubber and you're glue! Anything you say bounces off me and sticks to you!

Oh...wait...that will probably just prove your point. Drat!

Would you like to address my question about Trump's fiscal policies?
Sorry, but that ship sailed about five pages and a week ago.

That's because somebody suggested he didn't know how the site worked. Time spent on the site is relevant to that.
If that's directed at me I wasnt making that suggestion at all, Yods. I made a tongue in cheek reply to his post about mofos talking about Trump and he over reacted. As we all know Trump is being discussed all over the world so it's no surprise people on a movie forum (or music forum or techy forum) would discuss it in off topic. Why my number of days on here had to be brought up by him to shout me down in the thread is still beyond me, but each to their own.

Would you answer my question about Trump's fiscal policies now?

I'm not interested in your president's fiscal policies.

2 down, 1 to go.
That's nice. I hope you win today's internetz with whatever your competition is.

Meanwhile, back to trump. What's his problem with Truth?

On the other hand, Dani, dteam or any other ex-IMDBer reading this. Please don't always be so defensive. I kind of get it this time, but this isn't IMDB. For the most part you're safe here. You're safe.
Sadly, we're not. we get trolled, if we reply, our replies are deleted with ridiculous reasoning behind it that doesn't apply to the offender, (Or at least mine are) And we get constant reminders we're outsiders, with the ongoing imdb slurs.

Now we're "One Monthers"

At this point I'm proud to be a one monther considering the alternative. about the only time I hop on is when I get an email saying I got a pm. and then it's usually "go look what we're being called in this thread"

Oh and "trump" before I get THAT pm again.

Yeah, but there's a time frame for those countries to increase their defense spending and Germany is on track to meet the requirement by the designated year. Trump can not like it, but it is what it is, and his attempt to bully Germany isn't going to help.
The sentiment behind his statements on the military spending of Germany, etc. is at least right, though. My main intent was to point out that this is not a very good topic to attack him on. It plays perfectly with his own electorate. It's very logical of him, politically, to frame the whole thing in the way he's doing right now and I'm not wholly convinced that it won't have any effect. His tone on this topic is one of the few aspects of his presidency that actually might prove beneficial to his country.
Critics will say that the line Trump is taking on this issue is especially good for the weapon industry and I would agree with them, but that doesn't automatically mean that it can't actually be good for the country and the western world as well.

-----------------

@Yoda and @Omnizoa, which of the specific fiscal proposals of the Trump administration do you like and do you think will help his electorate? I can think of a few possible ones (also about some that won't), but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it.

We were all One-Monthers at some point.

Yeah...no. The last time your posts were deleted, not only were you not being trolled, you weren't even being addressed. You went out of your way to insert yourself into someone else's conversation, just to start something.

As for the "outsider" stuff, that becomes self-fulfilling pretty quick if you decide any disagreement or resistance you run into must be because of it. And the same thing happens if you decide to assemble a few relatively benign comments (or even jokes), and extrapolate from them.

I'm only bothering to say this for the benefit of others, since I already have ample reason to doubt that any argument you make is actually in good faith. But on the off chance you actually do want to have a thoughtful discussion about how everyone's assimilating (or not), and aren't just looking to pick fights here's the thread that would go in.

If what I'm about to say helps anyone, be you a new MoFo, or an older Mofo, good Omni is who he is. His style of posting & debating has nothing to do with former IMDB members. He always responds that way. No one is being targeted and so there's no need to rally against anyone to support your friends. Other boards are like that and that's where conflict comes from. MoFo is different...we're all equal and while we do have friends, we don't play 'tag team'.

Oh and personally, I can't stand Trump.

Plus, I really liked Omni's former signature line!

No one's throwing you under that bus, you're diving into the wheels yourself.

Thank you.

I care less about whether they specifically help the people who voted for him and more whether they're good overall. I'm not at all fond of seeing more money pissed away on a wall that dubiously pays for itself and the military (especially if the US intends to mind it's own business for now). Future plans to slash taxes across the board and reform the current tax code sounds great, but there are no details or guarantees of that (this would also depend on other successful cost-cutting to offset the increased deficit). However the current track to uppend Obamacare, at the very least by repealing the federal mandate removes a grossly illiberal tax burden on virtually every citizen of the United States, something socialists don't seem to appreciate.

In terms of cutting costs to support all these things, I happen to agree with much of the proposed budget cuts and outright end to federal funding of several private corporations and auxiliary government agencies.
