Watching Movies Alone with crumbsroom

First you Corrie people talk about watching porn together. Now you're in here openly discussing snuff films? What kind of deviant perverts are you bunch!?!?!

I have only vaguely tried to find Snuff before, out of a fear the wrong kind of thing will pop up in my search.
Pretty sure it's on Tubi, or at least it used to be.

My threads always bring out the best in people.

Is Tubi the free site? Because I'm all about free stuff.

Yes. You'll have to deal with occasional ad breaks, but typically they're few and far between. Judging by the type of movies I've seen you champion, I think you'll love their selection. It's a haven for cult/grindhouse/B-movies and others of that sort.

I'll second the recommendation for Tubi. A lot of the movies on there have nice transfers as well.

Good to know

Pffft. I once sat through Garbage Pail Kids The Movie. And Howard the Duck. And 976-Evil. And this was just a few years ago! No excuses!

In case it isn’t clear, I don’t mind watching a bad movie.
I actually liked Howard The Duck when it came out. I probably watched it 12-15 times. I was 13.

Victim of The Night
For the record, I thought you held your own just fine in there. I get the feeling that we have fairly opposed political views, but I enjoyed reading your viewpoints in a thread that has been fairly bereft of balanced discussion thus far.
Thank you, Sedai.

Tubi is quite awesome (based on about a week's experience). I would have joined earlier, but it's US only, and I'm Finnish. Fortunately, they're not too bothersome about the area restrictions, and unlike Netflix, it appears to work just fine via VPN.

The amount of ads is quite inconsistent (and their length as well - I'm actually getting anal cancer from those damn Gardasil 9 ads that last forever and were in practically every break during the last film I watched).

I think he's taking a break. I am gently harassing him via e-mail from time to time.
Well, tell him I asked about him.

Anybody know where DaMU is?
I interact with him periodically on Facebook and Letterboxd.

After my Forced Entry ordeal, I'm not about to mess with getting that kind of thing gummed up in my computers memory (or mine) again. It only leads to such gold medal moments as me mentioning it on a second date, when asked what the worst thing I've ever seen is. Then have her live text me her reactions to it as she watched it the next afternoon. That was fun, especially as it moved from "This isn't so bad, I think it's actually kind of interesting" to "oh....oh no...oh...I don't....I don't know about this". I died a thousand deaths that day. Somehow managed to get a third date though
The following story contains Snuff spoilers, but honestly the spoiled bit is the only reason anybody would ever watch it anyway, so... whatever.

When I was a kid I had a cool uncle who was 11 years older than me, so when I was 8 or so he was 19. Long hair, played the drums and could draw well. I thought he was awesome. One day I'm at my grandmother's house (his mom) and he tells us about the movie he saw in which a woman was "actually" murdered at the end. He described the scene in detail, including the bit where the guy triumphantly holds up the victim's intestines to the camera. (I was 5 years old when the film was released so I guess at the time of this incident I would've been 9 at the oldest and probably younger). Was my uncle aware that it was fake? Probably not, knowing him, but the point is I was too young to question whether this was real or not. As far as I was concerned it was. So at that young age I was confronted with the idea that A/ sometimes people are killed "just because"; B/ there are people who consider that entertaining; C/ your local theater will gladly show it; and D/ my awesome uncle thought it was cool. We use the word "scarred" all the time, but this is one case where the word fits. It put me in a real funk and to this day it influences how I speak when children are around. In the early days of the internet I finally got around to looking up the movie which is how I learned the title of the film and everything.

I don’t know what the point of this story is. “Being a kid in the 70s was scary”, maybe.

Yikes! I'm sorry that happened.

It is. There's a wide mix from respectable to the stuff that Vudu won't tell others about.

There are ads, but they aren't obnoxious unlike some competitors (Crackle comes to mind).
