Since copyright violations are a civil penalty generally, you'd probably have to refuse to pay the fine, defy the judge, ignore a couple of court orders, go on the run, be pursued by a crew of deputies with barking hound dogs and then get in a shoot out, dying in a hail of bullets. That's really a lousy way to check out when all you got was a copy of The Sixth Sense.
