African American boxer, paralysed, wife, drama

I'm looking for drama film from 90's. It is story about African American boxer or other fighter. He is very aggressive against his wife and then (I don't remember why) he was paralysed. His wife forgive him and cares him.

A boxer / fighter was main character.
