Just read that the television legend died yesterday of natural causes. He was 88 years old.

He was more than just a talk show host. I remember watching his talk show back in the 1980s when used to try all kinds of things that his guests asked him to try. He was so upbeat and outgoing that it was always fun to watch him.

Well, time to let the cat out of the bag. I was actually on Regis and Kathie Lee's show on Christmas of 1988. I was in a school choir and we got to perform live on the show because we were getting ready for a performance at Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular Pre-Show. Regis was great and even patted me on the shoulder as we went to the studio. He will forever be an icon. RIP
