Guillermo del Toro - The Shape of Water
Del Toro took an early lead, then PTA caught up, then Villeneuve challenged both of them. But later entry votes went with Del Toro and he took it with 8 votes. Both Villeneuve and PTA settled for 5 each and Nolan came in last.

would have been fun to see someone else take it, but, even WITHOUT seeing The Shape of Water I'm pretty overjoyed to see del Torro take it.

Another year, another split with the Oscars. Despite strong competition from The Shape of Water, Blade Runner managed to pull out the win with 6 votes. Shape earned 5. Three Billboards and Florida Project tied in 3rd with 3 votes each.
