Hot damn neiba, have I been missing out. I don't know much to say because I'm not as versed in classical as you, but this'll be a great place to learn something about the music of the past!



The thing isolated becomes incomprehensible
We had a song-cycle, a Oratorium and a piano piece. Next one will be a Symphony from this gentleman:



The fourth and most famous movement sounds something like this:

And present. New erudite music still gets written though it's not commented on in magazines and played often in concerts.

I like Schubert and Beethoven, which are close to these two?
Schubert and Beethoven are composers who did the transition between the Classical and Romantic, so it depends on what you like by them? If I have some favourite works, it's easier to recommend.
But I'd recommend Brahms for now, until I have more information!
