So, having never seen the show it only makes perfect sense to me that it be Kyle Reese with a "clever" alternate timeline crossover event.

Oh, ha haaa! Sorry, no, I didn't mean a time traveler in the sense of one out of literature or other movies. He's a time traveler inside the SHOW, but it's a name in history we'd all recognize. Apologies! Not a crossover with another piece of entertainment.
