Just the idea that there might be more to life than movies sounds horrible.

The title of the thread and the content of the first post are two completely different ideas.

Slash is raising a good point. In addition to movies, we also have TV shows, video games, music, books, and real-life friends. Actually, forget that last one.

If this thread were actually consistent with the title, and it was about parasocial relationships and the ways people are tricked into thinking they can meaningfully like celebrities as people despite heavily curated and managed fragments of information about them, then I'd be totally on board.

Watching movies is pretty good, though, and thankfully can be done without buying into all that stuff.

I like the "Go now" part, sounds mystical.
