Best Bond Girl Ever...?

Barbara Bach, The Spy Who Loved Me

Gemma Arterton, Quantum of Solace

Olga Kurylenko, Quantum of Solace

Raquel Welch, Thunderball
I didn't know she was up for the role of Domino; Faye Dunaway and Julie Christie were thought of too — Faye Dunaway in a Bond film sounds good . Claudine Auger played Domino in Thunderball, and Kim Basinger in Never Say Never Again.

Love Olga .

I thought Raquel Welsh was up for the role of Honey Rider, unless she was up for that one too?

Maybe – I still can't believe they passed up the chance to get Monica Bellucci for Tomorrow Never Dies.

Would Belucci have played Mrs. Carver?

Yeah that's too bad she was turned down. When picking a Bond girl, should the best Bond girl be the main one in the plot that drives the plot the most, or would Xenia and Anya Sciarra be eligible, even though they don't take up as much plot time compared to the main ones?

I think when the term Bond girl comes up it's usual to think of the female lead who tends to be the main love interest. Elektra King was unusual because she ended up being the villain as well, which was quite clever.

I thought that Christmas Jones was the main love interest though, since Bond ends up with her in the end, than Electra. Does that make Electra ineligible then, if Christmas Jones is love interest in the end?

As I say they did something quite clever by starting out one way and then having the surprise of Elektra being behind everything. That dooms her relationship with Bond but it's no less valid.

Yep. So when picking the best Bond girl do Elektra and Xenia count, or would they be in the Bond villains category?

To me Xenia's a villain, like Fiona Volpe in Thunderball.

Only because Elektra doesn't start out as one do I justify picking her as my favourite .

Well I guess if we are not picking the villain ones then, aside from Elektra, and if they have to be the main girl in the plot, I think I would have to go with either Vesper Lynd, Tracy Bond, or Pussy Galore but they seem like cliched choices, since so many fans pick them. But I guess there is a reason why they are often picked.

Vesper's not whiter-than-white of course .

I caught a bit of On Her Majesty's Secret Service the other day and Diana Rigg is good. I mean she looked great there and also in The Avengers, where she had an unreal wardrobe.

What do you mean she's not whiter than white exactly?

Well, as with Elektra, there's a twist.

Oh yeah for sure. I don't consider Lynd to be a villain like Elektra though, since she is doing it out of being forced, to save her kidnapped boyfriend.

Although not technically a "Bond girl", we would be remiss in not mentioning the incomparable Lois Maxwell, who played Moneypenny in the first 14 Bond films.

She was sexy, alluring, clever, and had wonderful chemistry with Bond, especially the Sean Connery films.

Pussy Galore from Goldfinger, of course. She was beautiful and tough.
