American History X - what a movie! This is the movie when I finalised realised what an amazing actor Edward Norton was. He was in credible and 100% believable in the film and the story was powerful and hard hitting.

Was it the basketball scene that sold you?

Lowlife (2017)

This was a weird one. Enjoyable enough just a bit strange all round, like a low budget, less self-conscious Pulp Fiction! Drama with early career Shane Meadows characters thrown in.

Thanks.

Sadly @Chypmunk already replied, but I'm still going to go with this...

The context is what the context is.

I'm sorry, you totally lost me. I was confused by this part:

"The context"

But then I was even more confused by what followed.

Minority Report (2002) - 7.2/10. This was twisted. But a very good one. Yes the plot was a bit convoluted for me. I had to rewind (...is that even a word now in the digital age?) a few times. But it was worth it. Some of visual choices were weird. Especially the halo like glow in some of the scenes were a bit off putting. As far as Sci-Fi goes this ver very Sci-Fi!

I Soliti Ignoti (Persons Unknown) AKA Big Deal on Madonna Street (1958) - 7.6/10. Absolutely fantastic. One of the best comedy I have seen in probably 3-4 years. The situational comedy is hilarious. The story is great. Overall, brilliant! The two ladies in the movie are an absolute treat! Especially the one with the most screen time!

Voyage to Agatis (2010)

From extreme film director extraordinaire Marian Dora, and I thought it was pretty good. Of course, that's only if you're looking for something sick and disgusting. It's full of graphic nudity so it seems like a decent screenshot doesn't exist. The end is as brutal and disturbing as anything you'll ever see on film.

Uncut Gems (2019) - Benny Safdie, Josh Safdie

- Adam Sandler is such a talented actor for drama movies! Directing is so good and the storyline is really entertaining in my opinion. One of the best movie I've seen this year so far. Ending is shocking.

He should have got nominated for an Oscar at the very least. Think his reputation hurt him. Would have made the Oscars actually watchable lol. He wont some other award right before the Oscars and his speech was amazing . Yea the Oscars didn't need him :

I checked the guy's resume on IMDb and I have to ask; are his films just torture porn or is there something else/more going on? Some reviews (and film descriptions) kinda make me curious while others mostly seem to kill that buzz.

That's the 3rd movie I've seen from him after Cannibal and The Angel's Melancholy and I believe those 2 are more highly regarded even though I liked them less. It seems like they're trying to be more than torture porn but I don't know if they are. They're all slow and disgusting. Cannibal was nominated for a specialty HoF a couple of years back. If you can find the thread then you can see what other members thought. I would recommend that most people stay away but perhaps it would be worth it for you to try one. Don't start with Angel's Melancholy because it's much longer.
