now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

Let's set it at 5 and see how that works.

Kong isn't wild over the 10-L, 10-D rule, but we can run this like a democracy and let the majority rule. Personally, Kong would rather have a more flexible rule on the amount of likes and dislikes each person can have on their list. Maybe no less than 40% of x (L or D depending on your list); this would mean the lists could end up being 10-10, 11-9, or 12-8. What do you guys think?

It all sounds good to me. I wasn't actually trying to set precedence or anything.

I was planning on messing everyone up with an all L list....but alas....

Also, I think that it should be illegal for someone to guess all L or all D....because it's cheap......and tempting......so if someone doesn't set a rule......I might have to do it.......

That's part of why Kong isn't crazy for the 10L/10D rule. When the quantity of each option is known for certain, the strategies of winning end up revolving around statistics rather than good old fashioned fun. The smart thing to do in a 10-10 system is to pick out 3 or 4 films you are almost certain the person liked and answer L for those, and then D for the rest. That will guarantee a score of 13 or 14 which is often enough to win. So, to prevent this kind of boring strategy we can do two things. (1) Add an unkown element by limited but not strictly setting the amount of L's and D's each person can use when making their list for people to guess at, or (2) control the answers by limiting or setting how many L's and D's someone can use when guessing. Kong likes the first option best because it seems to give the most leeway to both the quizzer and the guesser.

Um, I'll have my lawyers take a look at what you've just proposed, then I'll sue you for malicious fabrication of rule setting and non-disclosure.

Better bring some handy-wipes Kong.
