Say one negative thing about your favorite film 🙂

The truth is in here
My favorite film? The definition of favorite to me is something I literally can't complain about, so by default I can't come up with anything.

Other excellent movies though? Well, let's see...

Grease -
WARNING: spoilers below
The final message is kinda confusing and seems to have Sandy conform to a style she previously wasn't comfortable with. Though Olivia Newton-John does look great in that leather jacket, so all is forgiven.

Super - In retrospect,
WARNING: spoilers below
Crimson does forgive Libby raping him a bit too easily.
Yes that is a sentence I have to utter, this is James Gunn we are talking about.

Don't Look Up - Ariana Grande's parts of the Just Look Up song are good, Kid Cudi's brings it down a little.

Gone With The Wind - I love this movie, despite the criticism people may give it about revisionism and stereotyping. But if there's one thing even I am unable to look past it's Prissy. Butterfly McQueen does a great job playing her, but her character is demeaning and insulting, and her scenes are easily my least favorite parts. It's not Scarlett mistreating her I object to necessarily (Since she's hateful towards everyone), but her overexaggerated cluelessness is a disturbing reflection of how Hollywood treated minorities back then. Please don't let this discourage you from seeing it though, this would be a flawless masterpiece if not for that one element.

Gran Torino - The Hmong actors are not as bad as people say. Christopher Carley as the priest however sucks.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie For Theaters - Doesn't really have an ending. But that's a nitpick rather than a real flaw.

The Conjuring 2 - Some of the CGI looks kinda cheap.

Life Itself - Another one that's more of a nitpick. I would have loved to see some comments from Richard Roeper about Ebert, or at least a rundown of their history working together on At The Movies.

I like this thread! I swear I tried to find a favorite movie of mine that's flawed but it was hard to do!...So my 'negative' comments as per the 1st post rules...all done with a smile I do love these movies btw.

Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins is the best but I could do without the animation in the film.

Amazing film with atmosphere galore, though the device of the telephone in the room seemed to twilight zoney.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
My negative comment is: that 'Marcy Brady' otherwise known as Maureen McCormick was up for a role in this film but showed up coked out and dead tired from partying all night. Needless to say she did not get the part.

My complaint is I don't like most of the songs in the movie, they're OK as pop songs but they don't sound like they belong in a musical. The Best songs and numbers are Beauty School Dropout, Greased Lighting, Summer Nights and Sandy.

Ghouls, vampires, werewolves... let's party.

She'll have to be grounded for a month and her telephone privileges suspended.

As far as I'm concerned, The Shawshank Redemption is perfect for me. I do think that Tim Robbins' delivery is a bit odd as it heads into the last act; especially in that courtyard conversation with Red... but then I realize he was essentially putting up an act. He already knew what he was going to do. Get busy living or get busy dying #PerfectFilm

The secretaries montage in Schindler’s List is an ill-advised detour into wannabe "whimsical" territory, inserted because it feels like the filmmakers were nervous that the movie would be too heavy overall without it, which only results in the scene sticking out like a sore thumb from the film surrounding it:

Avengers End game, last scene.

Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)

People have said all manner of awful and terrible things about this one, the vast majority of which I vehemently disagree with. But I will concede that some of the line readings are pretty silly.

"I'm not obsessed, I'm not!" (Richard Burton)

The "super kiss" that Superman gave to Lois Lane at the end of Superman II to erase her memory was even more lame than his going back in time in the first movie, but not far enough to just stop Lex Luthor from setting off ANY nuclear bombs!

Blade Runner - It's depressing, dark, confusing movie that deserved to flop.

This is one of my favorite comedies of all time!

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003): Except for one brief scene, there are no women in the movie.

(Oh wait, I was supposed to say something negative!)

Casablanca is arguably my favorite movie. My only complaint is that it isn't a full hour longer.

This is like answering that interview question, "What's your greatest weakness?" with, "I just work too hard sometimes."

Being my favorite film, I have to echo this. But that's because I can't really think of a valid weakness.

Great idea!
"Harry and Tonto" isn't a movie I have seen in at least a couple of years and when I thought of watching it, I wasn't going to work hard for it.

Just an aside; at interviews I'd answer such questions with responses like... "My greatest weakness... let's see... It's probably my inability to adequately answer leading questions that require me to ridicule myself."

Or my favorite: "Are you a self starter?"
I liked to answer, "Actually, I use a rip cord. It may take a few pulls, especially if it's cold out, but once I get going I can run for a long time!"

(I obviously didn't get many jobs as a result of interviews).

Jaws - if you're going to overdub the voices of Brody's kids, maybe don't use the woman who was Rocky the Flying Squirrel. There's hundreds of voice actors in Hollywood who could have done it.
