There's a few Bronson fans on the boards, LuD. I've not seen it, so I'm not one of them.
check it out HK. Should be interesting to see what you think.

We've gone on holiday by mistake
Did anyone else enjoy bronson as much as me ?
Not as much as you but thought it was ok. 6.5/10

What did you think of Hardy's performance?.

From what I remember very good. I mean it is not exactly challenging to portray Bronson, the hardest bit will probably have been to bulk himself up for the role.

Checked out the Blind Side and Raging Bull over the past few nights get the reviews up soon.

If you want to achieve greatness, stop asking for permission
There was something strangely beautfiful about Bronson. It was more cerebral than I anticipated, so I was slightly taken aback by that. But reflecting on it now, I do think it's brilliant in its own way. I think 8/10 is a bit high, I'd probably give it a 7/10.

Raging Bull(Martin Scorsese)

''If you win, you win. If you lose, you still win.''

Well Raging Bull follows the story of a boxer, Jake LaMotta. The movie follows Jake (Rober De Niro) as he trys to become the middleweight champion of the world. The movie follows his out of the ring life aswell, from relationships with his brother, to his wife, to his friends. The problem is he treats these people with his violence, jelousy and paranoia and things begin to crumble around him.

Well another classic that i have finally gotten around to watching. Ime a big fan of sports movies with anything from Rocky to Any Given Sunday i enjoy, so why i have never gotten around to watching Ragin Bull i don't know. Maybe it was down to the fact the movie is shot in black and white, or maybe it was down to the fact i actually thought this movie was alot older that it is. I don't really know why but ime glad ive watched it now. Martin Scorsese, Wow where to begin. Raging Bull, GoodFellas, Casino, Cape Fear, Shutter Island the list keeps going of movies that are on another level, and this is no different. Is Scorsese the best director out there ? i think so.

Rober De Niro and Joe Pesci star along side each other yet again, and again they deliver big time. From seeing them together in Scorsese's other masterpieces casino and Goodfellas, i found i liked there performances in this movie on a hole new level. Don't get me wrong i love them together in there other movies, and there performances are always spot on, but this was just something special. Joe Pesci was the star of this movie for me. Yeah Robert De Niro was fantastic and i can't take that away from him but i just loved Joe Pesic's character and his performance. Raging Bull was a faultless movie, the boxing scenes where great to watch, his home personal life was powerful (his paranoia), the whole movie from start to finish was gripping and entertaining. Now i know why everyone raves on about this movie so much.

Well after finally sitting and watching Raging Bull the only word that really comes to my mind is it's best film iv'e ever seen (Not really one word but oh well) The black and white concept didn't bother me in any way it just added to the movie. Overall FANATSTIC.

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
Glad you liked Raging Bull. It may be Scorsese's best film.

Well i checked Zodiac out but i don't really not what to think about it. Ime gonna leave a review till i see the movie again but after a first watch i wasn't really impressed. I thought the movie was way to long and at times i felt really bored. Any fans of the movie here.

Although Zodiac isn't Fincher's best (obviously Fight Club is) it is a great film. On another note, Raging Bull can be hard to get through for some people with less patience. You have to be a true Scorsese fan to truely appreciate it.

Warrior ( Directed By Gavin O'Connor)

''You had a choice, okay. You Had a choice''

I know ive got a reviews thread open but i thought i would post Warrior in its own thread as not everyone checks my reviews thread out, and Warrior deserves attention. Warrior is about a torn up family Tommy Riordan (Tom Hardy) his Brother Brendan Conlon (Joel Edgerton) and there former alcholic father Paddy (Nick Nolte). Tommy and Brendan are seperated when they are younger, one goes to live with his mum and the other stays with his father Paddy becuase he is in love with his now wife Tess (Jennifer Morrison). Tommy returns back home to his father after his mother has died, we also find out later on in the movie that Tommy has been through alot of crap and is sort of messed up with alot of anger inside of him. Both being brought up younger in the fighting game by there father (Wrestling) Tommy and Brendan, for there own reasons have to enter a tournament (mma), and both guys need to win it. Yeah the Trailer to Warrior does give alot away about this mma aspect of this movie but it really doesn't matter its the story what drives this movie.

Well like i said above its the story that drives this movie. Tommy and Brendan go through everything they can to win the competition and the ending of this movie is set up so Brilliantly, one of my favourite endings ive seen in a long time. Gavin O'connor obvisouly used the MMA concept because boxing has been done so many times, he's recognized this and went with a different approach and it works so well and feels so different (fresh). Ime a fan of mma myself so after first seeing the trailer i just couldn't wait to see this movie, great cast, great fight scenes, it looked like my cup of tea. The problem is... the trailer to this movie does nothing for it, Warrior is all about story and fantastic acting. The MMA is not the main focus point, think Rocky, The fighter.

Tom Hardy, Nick Nolte, Joel Edgerton. Well first of this is Nick Nolte's best ever performance, some of his scenes are so touching and they are played so well by Nick (tho i could't understand a thing he said ). Joel Edgerton is not really a name i've heard of before, but again another great performance. Tom Hardy is the stand out performance by a mile tho. Tom is the new star on the block. Since RockNRolla he's been in alot of great movies and for me this tops them all. Tom has changed his physique yet again and has bulked up, i had by doughts about Bane but Tom was massive in this movie, so all is good. I think a few awards will be going the Warriors way, and Tom Hardy will for sure get an award for his performance.

Warrior was a fantastic movie and the best of the year so far. Great Story, great acting, great cast and something abit special.

You and I have the opposite taste when it comes to Raging Bull/Taxi Driver. I would switch those ratings around.

I loved Raging Bull. I loved the whole black and White concept, the music, the cast and the acting, great movie. better than Taxi Driver.

The Descent ( Directed By Neil Marshall)

''I'm an English teacher, not f*cking Tomb Raider.''

The Descent follows a group of woman who are on a thrill seeking adventure in a under ground cave sytem. While down in the caves they become trapped after the way they entered the caves has collapsed. The girls plod on to try and find a new way out and enter deeper and deeper into the cave sytem, are they alone tho?. The girls soon realise that something is down in the caves with them, and its not human. One by one the girls are being targeted and they must do everything they can to find a way out and survive.

Well i love a good horror movie, but the problem is nothing really comes along these day that we can call a horror. I love all the old classics like, The Texas Chainsaw Masacre, Nightmare On Elm Street and Halloween......but all the Horror Movies that are around these days don't really do much for me. Over the past few years we have had alot of classics remade for the new generation but they don't come close to the original, and everything else thats came along hasn't been that great. The Descent has probabley been the best horror movie i've seen in a long while. Okay its not great, and it still doesn't compete with are old favourites, but it does have its great moments. The story to the Descent was great, i loved the idea of something evolving under the ground that we have not yet discovered picking these girls of for there roast dinner. I liked the whole feel of the underground caves (the darkness) that made everything that little bit more scary.

The cast was a group of girls kicking ass which was good to watch. Nothing really to say about the cast, its a horror who cares they were good enough.... they are there to be hunted .

The monster things living under the ground were great. They looked really freaky, tho if they were surposed to be blind how was they finding there way in and out of the caves to hunt?. Anyway who cares really, it was a good movie and something a little better than the horror crap around today.
