Can everyone tell me whats the different between the short-DVD "The Exorzist1" and the new long version?

there's a thread somwehere in the general movie discussion on the newer released Exorcist ... basically, they added old scenes cut out for the original theatrical release. not scenes necessary to the story but that made the film even more enjoyable (for me anyway).
