Jack Reacher 2: Never Go Back (2016)



I skipped the first movie and headed straight for the sequel (don't ask why), but my verdict.... Meh. The story has to many plot holes, the cast are as fun as a day out at church, and the movie is very lazily executed. The action is pretty good in parts, but it's nothing we haven't seen a million times over. And by the time the credits rolled i found my self thinking.. what was the point in all of that. Another very average movie from Tom Cruise.

War Dogs (2016)



War Dogs is based on a true story (well sort of). it has a fantastic cast, and some really great comedy, well dark comedy i think is the more accurate description. This movie kind of reminded me of The Wolf Of Wall Street for some reason, but i suppose thats a good thing in so many great ways. Anyway, very good movie, and certainly worth a watch

War Dogs is one of my favorites of 2016, and it was definitely the biggest surprise. I watched it back to back with Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which I had similar feelings for.

I still haven't seen the first Jack Reacher.

Filth (2013)



James McAvoy delivers an a outstanding performance in this crazy, bizarre, and completley bonkers dark comedy. This really is a very strange movie that leaves you feeling like your up to the eye balls on drugs. Its a very fascinating movie and i absolutely loved it. I would certainly recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't heard of it.

Basic Instinct 2 (2006)



The first movie was bad, but Sharon Stones sexiness managed to save it in some kind of way. This movie tho is absolutely terrible. Awful cast, terrible story, and even the sex scenes don't have a patch on the original. Everything about this movie is a snooze fest, and i can't believe i'm saying this but i kind of missed Michael Douglas.

In terms of the movies tone i'd say Trainspotting.

It's a Trainspotting, In Bruges type deal. Dark humor, twisted and offensive story.

I was actually psyched to see Filth and was a little disappointed. I liked it well enough, but my expectations were too high.

Basic Instinct 2 was indeed terrible.

Pretty Woman (1990)



A love story? Ha. This movie is a movie about domestic abuse. Its a movie about a rich guy picking prostitutes up and paying them to stay with him. Its a movie about a guy telling the girl how to dress, how to eat, and how to behave. This ain't no love story, this is like a Sleeping With The Enemy sequel. On the plus side tho it does have a few catchy soundtracks, and it does have Julia Roberts looking finneeee.

Blade (1998)



Although Blade feels a little bit dated today, it's still great fun to watch. Wesley Snipes playes one of the coolest comic book characters around with style. Everything about this movie is just right. The style, the tone, the action, the soundtracks, even the cast are all perfect. I absolutely love this movie.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)



This is one of my favourite old school horror sequels that managed to keep that shock value to match the original. And what i loved about this movie was that it wasn't affraid to take the movie in a different direction either. It has all the blood and gore to satisfy all the horror fans out there, plus it also stars Dennis Hopper which is just a added bonus.

Top Gun (1986)



Cheesy soundtracks... tick. Cheesy characters.... tick. Cheesy one lines....tick. Cheesy love story.... tick. Pure cheesy, but completely awesome 80's movie.... tick. They really don't make movies like these anymore, and it's a damn shame. Top Gun is fantastic. It's great fun, and it's one of my all time favourites.

Casino(1995)



One of the many great gangster classics that offers a fantastic cast, some incredible performances, and a very powerful story. It doesn't quite receive the praise that Goodfellas receives, and it's a damn shame because Casino in my eye's is just as good. Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone deliver there finest performances yet - in what i would call Martin Scorsese at his very best.
