Total film's 100 Greatest movies

Tools

Someone was obviously joking when Donnie Darko was put on there.

All and all, I think this list is ******* horrible. Goodfellas is great, but number 1?

Goodfellas was Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and De Niro in a mafia movie. The plot wasn't really too deep, and like I said, the godfather was much better mafioso.

As for crap, I meant shouldn't be on the list, not neccessarily bad.

The only movie that I would truly consider crap is Heat. I found that movie incredibly thin and superficial.

And, after a recent viewing of vertigo, it is now probably 4 on my overrated list. But I don't want to kick any of my overrated off, so I'll now have a top 11 overrated.

Any movie that sells itself on the notion of two mafia-gangster movie stars meeting up in the given action movie is horrible.

It would have worked without Scowling Bob and Little Shouty Al, have you seen it or just the poster?

Well, it sells itself perhaps on the notion that those stars are also two of the best actors of our time. Then the film is directed by a very fine and skillfull director. We could of course ignore all that and concentrate on the film, which is superb. There are a number of things that are brilliant with Heat but I'll settle with mentioning that it's one of the best depictions of "manhood" that I've ever seen.

I don't think Scarface is as bad as people here say it is, but it definitely doesn't deserve to be on the list.

Yeah, Total Film is crap. But again with the Empire bashing.

Have you seen an Empire mag since thier re-design? It's a lot different now. You should check it out before you start hating. Hater.

I bought last months by way of experiment. It contained an amazing review for a new movie called, I think, Gillette Mach III (ain't seen the first two Gillette Mach films though) about a buzzy razor.

Nice glossy 6 page spread though but tediously interrupted by facile George Lucas adverts. I hate it when they fill magazines up with junk but was heartened by the peview section which contained reports on Halifax Mortgage (starring some bald bloke with thick specs, I think it's Delroy Lindo) and Bose Phallic Speakers (possibly a Sci-Fi).

Yeah, Empire's as wholesome as ever....

If this movie is a depiction of manhood then I'm having sex with Charlize Theron. The whole movie had some poor dialogue. The whole point of the movie was to meet up two mafia stars in an action movie. It had it's moments but it was meant to sell the movie.

When anyone talks about this movie it's alway Al Pacino and De Niro. Nothing more. If you can appreciate it for more, then more power to you, but I just didn't find anything with it.

The Charlize Theron Special:

The Italian Job

28 days...6 hours...42 minutes...12 seconds
If having those two stars were the case....then why have Jon Voight, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Ted Levine, Ashley Judd, Natalie Portman...

It is one of the best character films of all time...not THE, don't start shouting at me...but one of.

Obi: To me, all you do is go against what is popular to be one of those "I'm cool because I hate mainstream" type of people.....or could I be wrong?
