the last tech thing you bought?
A new electric kettle, needed a kettle replacement and the exact one we had was in the sales. Perfect.
That's tech right?

I bought this monitor:

It's not huge because it's meant for right next to my bed. I need to clean the spot for it.
Next I'm going to buy a GBA SP and a Blu-ray player.

A Pixel Watch.
I wasn't really planning to, I figured it's one of those things I'd get in another few years when they got better/cheaper. But a couple years ago a friend of mine was upgrading their Fitbit and gave me their old one, and when the strap finally went, and I checked on replacements, I realized even a fairly basic one was close to half the cost of a "real" smart watch, so I went for it. I like it pretty well so far.

Soundbar. My TV speakers are terrible. Now I can actually hear the people in the movies I'm watching. I spent a whole $30 on it.

What's annoying about it?

It is very touchy so it does things I didn't intend, especially the mouse pad. And the sliders (I don't know what they are called, the things on the edge of the right edge of the screen are hidden, so it is difficult to know where they are if you have used them to scroll down the page. It gets annoying.

My super old laptop HP Pavilion stopped working,
so I've just bought this brand new Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15.6" + Windows 11:

Here's the monitor I bought in action:

It's a Genesis game using an AV hookup. I tested the HDMI hookup with my computer earlier, and it worked great too. I am stoked with my purchase. Well... aside from the stand being too flimsy to hold up the screen. I'll figure something out. I had an idea to get a mouse for it too since I can connect it to my computer when the computer is closed and have it as a screen except there's no current way to control it, so I want to see if a mouse would work.
Addendum; I figured out what to do with the stand, and I had an idea for a USB device; I'll get a Blu-ray player with a USB port and connect it to the monitor and then use that. I knew I could think of something.

I have a handful of solutions for the stand for my monitor. I also used it tonight to play an N64 game whilst I battle insomnia. It worked perfectly. I still need to use it to watch a movie. I'm starting to nod off though. It'll have to happen some other time. Now the fun part; explaining why the N64 is on the night stand and how and why I got a monitor. It wasn't even expensive. The monitor was way cheaper than I thought it'd be. Maybe that'll save me.
Addendum; either no one noticed or no one cared. I think I'm stressing for naught. Yeah and now I ordered a Blu-ray player for the bedroom.
I also ordered a GBA SP.
Addendum; I figured out the stand for my monitor. It works just fine so long as I rotate it the right way. I didn't realize the unit turns. Now it works perfectly. The monitor is so nice.
The Blu-ray player is scheduled to arrive Saturday. I don't have an excuse ready yet. I need one in the next day and a half.

The Blu-ray player came on Saturday. It works just fine. I'm still waiting for an SP, except that one was canceled because the seller never shipped it. I'm getting a cobalt SP instead. I should get it in the next few days. I also bought a 10" monitor for my bedroom a few weeks ago. It works great too.
